Since there isn't too much fodder this week with Holmes, does anyone think that Highlands will ever make my vision come true and build a bowl stadium in death valley?

 

If you pony up the cash, they'll build it where ever you want.

I know. Well, someday when I win the Lottery, maybe I'll do that. I just keep seeing all these great facilities around town and ours is sufficient but it sure would be nice to have a complex instead of just a field. I guess we can always dream.

 

My plan wouldn't cost too much:

 

1-purchase all the houses on North side of Bluegrass Ave

2-about 2million tons of concrete

3-million dollar field turf

4-huge jumbo-tron

5-retractable roof like Lucas Oil Field (that is the neatest field yet!)

6-state of the art weight facility/lockers

7-OKAY.....I can't go on anymore but you could imagine how cool that would be right???

They need to get a new Gymnasium as the one they have now is horrible. Can you say steambath?

I love the one we have. It's a classic. I understand that some upgrades would be nice, ie. new locker room, weight room, restrooms and concessions, but I really like the closed in feel. Every seat is a great seat because you are basically right on the field and you feel like your in the middle of the action.

I have never seen Highlands field or facilities, but as everyone is talking about them it sounds horrible, at Johnson Central before we got the turf field our field was horrible. The field constantly being torn up, and rains would leave the field wet for weeks and mud to overflow the field which brought up what was known at Johnson Central as the "Mud Bowl".

One of our star player's Grandfather had a good idea. Start building at the bottom of Death Valley a parking garage until level with the top of the hill and have the stadium level with the lot. Solves 2 problems: stadium and parking!

They're not horrible--they're great!

Highlands will never do a new stadium with the intimidation and cannon I love it the way it is, never cared playing or coaching there. Just intimidating to opponents and all. Plus the Birds fans are temendous at home and very very loud. JD
