Covington Catholic 49 Ryle 17
Both NK districts are bad.

DeSales 37 Ballard 22
Then why classify?

DeSales 37 Ballard 22
I'm sorry, I know DeSales is a very good program but a 2A school shouldn't be 15 points better the a 6A school. Well done Colts!

Simon Kenton/Meade County Predictions
Why would I have voted as I did if not? Surely to goodness someone wouldn't go to threads that they have absolutely no interest in and vote in polls just to try to get a rise out of people. I fully expect SK to be the regular season champion of Kentucky again.

Heat Index - Is your school following all the rules?
Then someone wasn't doing their job.

6A #2 Saint Xavier hosts 5A Cathedral (IN)
Cathedral was always one of the toughest games on Trinity's schedule when they played and the games were hard fought. They are well coached and don't beat themselves. I think I'll give X a slight edge because of the emotional boost of christening their new field but wouldn't be shocked if Cathedral goes home with a win.

Simon Kenton/Meade County Predictions
It's an opinion board isn't it? Just like playing CAL last year.

Simon Kenton/Meade County Predictions
And the fact that a 1A school is probably the strongest team on their schedule speaks volumes to their scheduling philosophy.

5A #1 Bowling Green vs 6A North Hardin
No reason for this game to be close. BG names the score.

Bowling Green vs. Male updates (Scrimmage)
And I got soundly lambasted on here last year for even suggesting that Male could have possibly been inadequately conditioned to play 4 quarters of football or that an opponent might be in better shape then they were. A Chris Wolfe coached team will never be in bad shape our less conditioned then any opponent I was told, I couldn't possibly understand because I'd never seen a Chris Wolfe practice. What happened in the last 10 months?

Scott/Boone County Updates (Scrimmage)
Maybe no rules were broken but that doesn't make is smart and I stand very firmly by my idiotic statement. I may be the only person on this board that doesn't think Chuck Smith is omniscient.

Simon Kenton/Meade County Predictions
I'll give SK credit, at least they're scheduling 6A schools now. Maybe some day they'll schedule one in a real game that might actually be competitive.

Trinity at Ryle updates (Scrimmage)
Yes that was the year. Last night was also Trinity's first visit to Ryle since 2010, one of the coldest games I remember attending. Trinity won 28-9 and earned a trip to the championship game.

Trinity at Ryle updates (Scrimmage)
Can only happen if both teams advance to the championship game.
-
Scott/Boone County Updates (Scrimmage)
I really hope no one gets hurt. That's just plain idiotic but if that kind of judgement is what's leading Boone County's football program it speaks volumes to the current state of a once proud program.

Scott/Boone County Updates (Scrimmage)
My bad they scrimmaged on Thursday. Please substitute 48 hours for 24 hours. No other corrections needed.
-
Scott/Boone County Updates (Scrimmage)
How is it legal, moral or ethical to play 2 scrimmages in 24 hours? Like Forest Gump said stupid is as stupid does.

NFHS urges college and pro teams to recognize Friday as 'High School Football Night'
The culprits are the colleges and networks like ESPN that have to fill time slots and sell advertising. Can you imagine the righteous indignation colleges would express if the NFL decided to start playing half their games on Saturdays?

Which Louisville area games are the most interesting to you this season?
9/8. Trinity at Male: This has developed into a very intense rivalry in recent years with the last 5 games decided by less then a touchdown and 3 going into overtime.

BluegrassPreps Class 6A Pre-Season Rankings (Discussion)
I'm a hard core Trinity guy, you all know that. I'm also realistic. Trinity's defense should be stout. Trinity's O is YOUNG, replacing the entire O-Line and backfield. As has been stated elsewhere Trinity's first 5 games are against very strong opponents. If they survive those relatively healthy I think they will be in a great position to make a run at the inaugural championship weekend in the grocery cart.

Scimmage Goals
Winning means absolutely nothing. It's about seeing what your team can do against outside opponents when you don't know what you will face. Seeing who does, and who doesn't rise to the occasion of playing under the lights. Seeing what parts of your scheme need to be tweaked before playing for real.

Candidates for Kentucky's 2017 Mr. Football award
Curious isn't it? Waggener in recent years has had lots of talent but been less then stellar on the field.

Bowling Green Coach Removed
I graduated from high school in 1978 and I don't remember my coaches using profanity, in fact I remember them chastising players cussing and trust me the coaches were plenty hard on us otherwise. If this coach was reprimanded for language aimed at players and she continued then her termination is warranted. The fact that the school district is going to pay her coaching stipend when they are under no obligation to do so seems very fair to me. HS coaches are on a year to year contract so they can be terminate at will.

Mr. Football Criteria
The thread started be @Jason Frakes started me thinking, always a dangerous thing. As he stated in his article the AP doesn't list any criteria for the award so what do the most knowledgeable football fans in KY think? I'll try to flesh out the options here. It should be based on senior year only and on individual stats, overall performance of the team or quality of competition shouldn't matter. It should be based on the players over all body of work through high school taking into account only individuals stats. Team success not a factor or lack of quality competition shouldn't be taken into account. Senior year only, the best player from the best team should win. Team success and playing quality opponents have to be a factor Over-all body of work based on helping his team to success while in HS. Was the player part of a successful program while in high school and did he play against quality opponents. Other, please explain in thread

Midnight Madness Roll Call
Nothing wrong with it and no harm just gimmicky. Just my opinion. FWIW I think the same thing about basketball teams that do it.
