  1. DeSales has an outstanding 2A program. They'll never be competitive on a regular basis with Trinity or X.
  2. When Trinity played at Ensworth last year and Brentwood Academy the year before they used 7 officials.
  3. Check my posting history I've been very critical of both Manual and Eastern in the past. To say that I repeatedly unfairly castigate schools whose kids have rough backgrounds is inaccurate. And for the record I still would like to see how Brents would fare playing against better competition. That's the post you pointed out from Oct. 2016. Please explain how it's in any way mocking Jarius Brents.
  4. Didn't one time say anything negative about the players. It's amazing, successful programs can be picked apart but question a less then successful one and you get ripped. I know the talent that's been at Waggener the last few years and I still think it's a legitimate question.
  5. How long has Dale Mueller been away from coaching because the mercy rule has only been at 36 for a few years?
  6. If I'm not mistaken Lexington Catholic lost to St. X a few years ago when they opted not to go for 2 in this situation. X was able to come back and win. If you're playing a hapless team then no, if you're on the verge of an upset absolutely.
  7. The coach is the AD and if undefeated or 1 loss regular seasons and early playoff exits are what you strive for then you're doing great. If actually competing for championships is what you want to do...
  8. That's what JV is for. Maybe it would be beneficial to play some real competition and get your starters close game experience?
  9. I still maintain that that game was one of the worst officiated games I've ever seen and it boggles the mind that anyone on that crew was awarded based on that game. It was clear from the outset that Lafayette's "strategy" was to try to get under the Trinity players skin and to a degree it worked. There's only so many times you can take hands through the face mask before you react. The officials never had control of the game. The officials totally lost control of that game and while I'll never condone a player touching an official, the atmosphere the officials allowed to be generated in that game definitely had a causal effect on that. Rumor I've heard is that from the regional finals on this year there will be 7 officials per game, with 2 side judges being added. That will make life interesting on the get back coaches but will they see more going on on the field? If they want someone to see that then they need to add a center judge like colleges.
  10. They also are full of empty calories (wins) that give you a quick lift, but once the sugar buzz wears off and reality sets in you hit a wall, hard.
  11. It's become a necessity if X and T both want to have full freshman and JV schedules.
  12. I'd say they are fairly typical of NKy 6A. At least they have stepped up and played real competition.
  13. Two of Jason Frakes top prospects on their defense, I believe there's talent on their offense. Yet the bet blown out right off the bat. Do either Rice or Brents play any offense? I know they've had good players recently but the results don't show it. What's the issue?
  14. I couldn't agree with this more. Paul automatically had an advantage over everyone else because he had played before. Add to that an advantage that he got because of his fanbase right off the bat and finally add the fans of his in the house with him and the odds are definitely stacked in his favor. Use Survivor as an example, does Boston Rob win on his 4th try if not for the fan-boy behavior some of his tribe displayed early on? In competitions like this if you're going to use returning players then it needs to be all or none.
  15. I'm sorry, I know DeSales is a very good program but a 2A school shouldn't be 15 points better the a 6A school. Well done Colts!
  16. Nope. I'm referring to the statue here in Louisville that up until recently no one seemed to know about. Its a man named John Castleman. He was a Confederate general who was pardoned after the war, served in the American army and played a big role in the development of the Olmsted parks in Louisville. He's not even in uniform in the statue. Since Charlottesville it has been vandalized and there has been a demonstration demanding its removal.
  17. Why does it matter? One of the statues people here want removed is of a person that after the Civil War was pardoned and served in the American army.
  18. For those that are bothered by them would you be bothered by federally funded buildings named after a former Exalted Cyclops of the KKK?
  19. Why would I have voted as I did if not? Surely to goodness someone wouldn't go to threads that they have absolutely no interest in and vote in polls just to try to get a rise out of people. I fully expect SK to be the regular season champion of Kentucky again.
