  1. I would love to see Scott County on Trinity's schedule.
  2. When was the last time SK beat Trinity? Follow-up how many total points has SK scored against Trinity? You may well get your wish (and truth be told, mine too) in the playoffs this year.
  3. That is an interesting question. What district are they playing in?
  4. It's not just the physical plant it's the upkeep and maintenance. Many facilities in JeffCo are just plain dirty. I was in a locker room at Ballard that just flat stank because it looked like the restroom hadn't been cleaned in weeks. The lights in Seneca's gym during districts last year were terrible. What were working were very dim and about a quarter of the fixtures weren't working. This may have changed but at one time Fern Creek didn't have a locker room for the visiting team at the field. At PRP this year one full bank of lights on their football field didn't work. The visitors locker room at Manual Stadium is old and totally inadequate for a team of any size. When Atherton is set up for soccer the field is just plain dangerous with steep drop-offs at one end of the field that are still in play. If you can't even bother to provide clean and functional environments why would decent coaches want to stay?
  5. Will the reduction in enrollment in other Lexington schools cause then to drop.
  6. I just went to Muhlenberg County to watch the Trinity basketball team play. Beautiful facilities. Better then ANYTHING in Jefferson County. How can that be true in a small rural area like that? And I mean no disrespect at all when I say that.
  7. This is correct. As long as it doesn't hit anything overhead.
  8. Less then a week after the rivalry game it is renewed. Game scheduled for Wednesday night at 8:30 at Valley, but if the schedule is like the LIT usually is I'd bet tip off will be closer to 9. Any reason to expect anything different this time around? The teams will not really have had enough time to make wholesale changes. I didn't think Trinity was particularly sharp in the first meeting but X not having a shooter like they had in McKim last year killed almost any chance they had. Can X overcome a decided disadvantage in overall athleticism and win?
  9. Unfortunately JCPS lives by the one salary fits all approach. No exceptions can be made. The best teachers in the district are paid on the same scale as the worst. Any time any form of merit pay is proposed JCTA fights it. The same philosophy is in play for coaching. The head football coach at Shawnee is paid the same salary as the head coach from Male.
  10. I think it's control but I'm not 100% certain.
  11. 10 second count starts when an offensive player has control of the ball in the back court.
  12. X could not match Trinity's team quickness, the only chance that had to stop then was to foul. It didn't work.
  13. And we could very well see a quick rematch Wednesday night.
  14. I have no desire to get into an argument regarding DeSales as I have a huge amount of respect for the school and what they have accomplished, I did not mean to imply that DeSales was in any way inferior to Trinity or X, nor do I have no desire to take this thread off on a tangent but your statement is incorrect. According to schools websites tuition at DeSales is $11,345 (LINK), Holy Cross is $9,350 (LINK), Trinity is $13,200 (LINK) and St. X is $13,175(LINK). I also stand by my statement that one of the reasons that private schools in Louisville, including DeSales, are currently seeing an upswing in enrollment is due to the condition of the Jefferson County Public School system.
  15. 67-37 Rocks after 3. King came off the bench.
  16. Fern Creek is getting schooled.
  17. Actually I just learned that juniors have been nominated but never won. As many have pointed out there is no real criteria for the award, is it a career award, is it a 1 year award/
  18. 0-2 (and beaten badly) in both games. The best QB in the state championship game this year wore a green jersey. Funny how you're all over the Lafayette bandwagon now after they knocked you all out 2 years in a row.
  19. It's going to get worse before it gets better. Some the the football facilities in JCPS look like 3rd world countries. Jefferson County Traditional Middle School has the best middle school program in the area and they feed directly to Male. There a reason why CAL and DeSales have risen the way that they have. They are good schools and less expensive then Trinity or X. Until JCPS addresses ALL of their issues it won't get better.
  20. Not a mistype. Posted for shock value. FYI Iroquois won the state championship in 2009.
  21. And at the end of the 3rd X dribbles away the last 10 seconds and gets of a desperation shot at the buzzer.
  22. X's regular offense looks like a stall. Dean Smith would love it.
