6A 2017
With their schedule next year you'll definitely see what they're made of. Congrats on stepping up Ryle.

Ryle/Trinity scrimmage 2017
Solid schedule Ryle. Nice to see someone from that part of the state with some stones.

State Championship Games are a Joke
It's not anymore.

Trinity 56 Lafayette 21 - 6A State Championship
Couple of years ago some spaces in the school were opened to students who were not in the traditional program through middle school.

Trinity 56 Lafayette 21 - 6A State Championship
BUT the rules were relaxed a few years ago and we saw a resurgence of Male football. Coincidence?

Trinity 56 Lafayette 21 - 6A State Championship
Only thing is that's one of the few the crew got right. They did flag the play.

Trinity 56 Lafayette 21 - 6A State Championship
Thanks you for posting. I'm not going to call it intentional either but it clearly shows a hand to the facemask knocking the helmet off. #7 was flagged for illegal participation and Lafayette got 15 more yards. IMHO it should have been offsetting penalties, PF-Facemask on #73 and illegal participation on #7, and the down should have been replayed. #7 should also have been allowed to stay in the game as his helmet came off as the result of an opponents penalty. Just another example of how poorly this game was officiated.

Trinity 56 Lafayette 21 - 6A State Championship
The still picture certainly looks like his helmet went to the chest to me. Still waiting for someone to post the footage of the BAMA commit ripping the helmet of the Trinity kid's head.

Then every school in Jefferson County is technically a private school because of open enrollment.

My Final All-Class Top 25
I really wish that whatever the obsticals on both sides thatbis preventing BG and Trinity from playing would be cleared. The 2 most dominate programs in the state in recent years should be playing.

Trinity 56 Lafayette 21 - 6A State Championship
After a few days of letting this one soak in a few comments. I can't remember a football game like that ever in more then 30 years of watching HS football, especially not in a championship game. The referees completely lost control. They were totally out of their league with the talent and speed on the field. They should never have been assigned to that game. With all due respect to football in other parts of the state, the officials for the 6A game should always be assigned from NKY, Jefferson County or Lexington based on who is in the game.

Trinity 56 Lafayette 21 - 6A State Championship
What leads you to that conclusion about #53? He only had one flag and that was for illegal participation after his helmet was ripped off. For the record in the 14 games prior to the state championship game Trinity had exactly ZERO incidents of helmets coming off during play.

Can anyone post the clip of #73 ripping #7's helmet off?

KHSAA Commish discusses state football venue
I know and after I read it I realized how silly it sounded on my part.

KHSAA Commish discusses state football venue
Would I have rather played late and won then not play at all? Absolutely, but when the first game was only scheduled with a 3 hour window they had to know the second game was likely to start late. At least Trinity spent the day at home and came down that afternoon. Lafayette came down the night before and had to keep their kids from going stir crazy in a hotel all day.

KHSAA Commish discusses state football venue
My only complaint is how late the Trinity game was. Based on Eastern time Trinity was still playing after midnight. By the time the game ended and the celebration was allowed it was 2 AM before they even got on the bus and after 4 AM when they got back to school. That's a long day.

KHSAA Commish discusses state football venue
The issues with locker rooms is there even if WKU isn't hosting the CUSA championship. This year Trinity had the Western locker room to themselves but the first year the championships were there they shared the locker room with another team. All other years Trinity has dressed in the Preston Center across the street. Western's stadium only has 2 locker rooms and the locker room on the visiting side is very small. I don't see how a visiting college team uses it.

One of them was when #7 for Trinity was flagged for illegal participation after his helmet was ripped off by #73 for Lafayette.

Does the KHSAA make college coaches pay?
I used to work at a DII school. I know the coaches there were reimbursed for tickets they had to buy when going to HS games and the school paid for tickets to the Sweet 16. Still a non-issue to me.

KHSAA Commish discusses state football venue
* Tackett: I think it’s already at that point. We had a discussion with the (KHSAA Board of Control) in November. Our board technically sets the sites, and I said, “You know, I’m not saying we change and I’m not lobbying we change. I think we need to have a discussion about options and what we have going forward.” Even if we’re just thinking about 2019 and beyond, we’re being irresponsible if we don’t start talking. … I think (WKU) would tell you if their university’s success means we need to look at something else, I don’t think it’s all that problematic for them. I think it’s good for both of us. * C-J: Would you have other options for hosting in 2017 and 2018 if you decided to break the current contract with WKU? * Tackett: I think you have to look long-term. We have an agreement to host down here, but it’s flexible for both of us in terms of scheduling. It depends on what we find out. We have to do some exploration. We really have to do some soul-searching discussions with the board. The board that 8-10 years ago awarded the long-term deal (at WKU) has been totally turned over. We have to get feedback from our schools and from our football advisory committee, which is a critical group. It’s time to have that discussion. * C-J: How big of an issue have the schedule changes over the last two years been for the schools involved? * Tackett: We heard hardly nothing at all this week. One of the Class A schools expressed some concerns, and I think they were very narrow-scoped to their issues. So, maybe our schools aren’t bothered by this. They spend four weeks finding out on Sunday or Monday when they play next. So, what’s a fifth? At the same time, are you really going to continue to build an event this way? LINK

Does the KHSAA make college coaches pay?
Ask your friend if he gets reimbursed. Sorry, but as someone else said this is a non-issue.

Does the KHSAA make college coaches pay?
I would be SHOCKED if any college coach that attends the games isn't reimbursed by their school.

State Championship Games are a Joke
It's time to face facts: The state championship games will be played at WKU through 2018 unless the KHSAA can find a loophole to get out of the contract. Once the contract is over the games WILL move to UK. We'll play the games in front of 60,000 empty seats and most "fans" will be OK with that because the games will be played at UK and they'll be all "tingly" about playing there. I have no issue with playing at UK but I do have an issue that only 4 championships would be contested outside of the Lexington area. The athletes from Lexington shouldn't be the only ones that get to compete for championships in their home area.

State Championship Games are a Joke
Schools get nothing from the state championship games. KHSAA gets the gate, the host school get's whatever it's cut of concessions is based on their contract with their vendor.
