Reduce the number of classifications?
All Tell replied to THS2011's topic in KY Football (High School)
After the thread a while back where someone was critical of a small school for celebrating a win over a 6A school, plus with schools like Dunbar and Henderson County showing that size doesn't matter I'm beginning to believe we ought to follow basketball's lead and not classify, 1 champion. > > > > That should generate some discussion. -
Reduce the number of classifications?
All Tell replied to THS2011's topic in KY Football (High School)
:deadhorse: I agree... Wait for it... -
I think a stronger strength of schedule helps a team learn how to play. Several years ago I followed Iroquois. Their schedule one year consisted of teams like Southern, Fern Creek, Fairdale, DeSales etc. They had a game that year with Seneca who had a worse record that Iroquois but had played teams like Male, Manual and St. X. What on paper should have been a fairly even ball game became a blow out for Seneca due in large part, in my opinion, to their players being better schooled by having played X, Male and Manual, all of whom beat them.

Reading the spoiler sites it's now looking like there's more of a possibility that there will be a bitter jury. Josh strategically used the farewell messages to let evictees know Paul's manipulations and his alliance with josh and Christmas. They also confirmed that the evictees see the messages even if they aren't shown on TV,

Should referees not work their Alma Mater's varsity games?
All Tell replied to thsrocks's topic in KY Football (High School)
Exactly the point I was going to make. -
How have the Refs been this season?
All Tell replied to THS2011's topic in KY Football (High School)
I couldn't do it. Hearing the guff they take and knowing what they get paid, there's no way. I respect the fact that they are willing to do it. -

I disagree. They made some interesting calls but at the end of the night they had the stones to wave off the 2 point conversion that would have beaten us. That one call makes up for a lot. -

It's a big win for NCC and a tough loss for CAL but in the grand scheme of things it means nothing. It's a non-district game against a very good opponent for both teams. NCC can use it as positive to build on, CAL can use it as an illustration of their lack of invincibility other then that it's just another game.

Cantrall’s Rating the State 9-17-17
All Tell replied to colonel-fan's topic in KY Football (High School)
Since the best team in the state can't be ranked it does seem to be a fairly questionable system. -
Trinity 28 Champagnat Catholic (FL) 7
All Tell replied to theguru's topic in KY Football (High School)
There's no question that Trinity's offense has made mistakes and left points on the field but they are 5-0 against stellar competition. I'll take it. -
Champagnat Catholic (Hialeah)(FL)/Trinity Updates

Trinity's equipment guys just had to change Herron's jersey. It was ripped almost in half. -
What's your team's biggest non-district rival?
All Tell replied to Colonels_Wear_Blue's topic in KY Football (High School)
Depends Historically St. X of course, but when all is said and done that tends to be a fairly amicable rivalry. From a dislike for each other standpoint it would have to be Male assuming it continues when the current contract is up. Trinity really doesn't have many out of district rivals because not many teams out of their district will play them long enough to get a real rivalry started. -
IMVHO if Paul hits F2 he beats either Josh or Christmas. If it's Christmas and Josh I think Christmas wins. Cody won't vote for Paul regardless. Kevin will vote for Paul regardless. I think Paul has done enough damage control that he can get a majority of votes regardless of who he's next to. Josh was such a jerk (much at Paul's prodding) that he'll have trouble convincing enough people to vote for him. It could be argued that Christmas has been the ultimate floater, everything she's won was thrown her way.

She has a right to her opinion, she's a bigoted idiot, that's my opinion. Forget about what she said about Trump, he's president he's fair game. She blasted viewers. Should she be fired? Probably not, BUT if a white anchor for the same network Tweeted that Obama's supporters were all New Black Panthers would that person still have a job a week after the Tweet? There's the double standard. :poop: like this is one of the reasons I'm OK with my DirecTV package not including ESPN.

Seneca is probably the worst team in Jefferson County at any level. Oldham should roll.
-
Missed that. Thanks
-
That's correct. According to the live feed spoilers Josh is now firmly committed to taking Christmas to F2 with him if he wins HOH, I don't know how Christmas is leaning if she wins HOH but I think she's counting on being there regardless of who wins HOH.

Never mind, someone already told you..

Last night was pre-recorded, it would have been edited out.

Increase in concussions?
All Tell replied to TransplantCakeEater's topic in KY Football (High School)
There are more athletic trainers at high schools every day now and therefore someone who is trained to recognize concussion so more of them are being caught and that's a very good thing. I don't think that there are more, just more that are caught and treated. While helmet technology has improved there is not now and never will be a concussion proof helmet. It's not the impact outside the head that causes the concussion, it's the movement of the brain inside the skull. That's why making the neck stronger and more stable may have more to do with reducing concussion then every changing helmet systems. After I misspoke about the importance of neck strength regarding concussion I've done some research. That may be where one of the answers lies. Anyone who says that high school kids aren't faster and stronger then they were 20 years ago hasn't been paying attention. -
