BluegrassPreps Class 6A Pre-Season Rankings (Discussion)

Class 6A

It’s the Bluegrass vs. the Hoosiers to set the tone in Kentucky’s top tier. The Big 3 will each host a cross river foe. Trinity will draw the perennial large school super power Carmel Greyhounds in what will be one of Kentucky’s highest profile Interstate challenges. Ryle has high hopes as the NKY delegate in Class 6A, but any hope of competing will require a good showing against a very good Covington Catholic team. Ballard and DuPont Manual each will draw Title Contenders from lower classes as well, while both Lafayette and Simon Kenton will get their feet wet while sticking within the Class 6A ranks.

1. Trinity vs. Carmel (IN)

2. Saint Xavier vs. Cathedral (IN)

3. Male vs. Floyd Central (IN)

4. Scott County vs. 5A North Bullitt

5. Ryle at 5A #3 Covington Catholic

6. Lafayette vs. Bryan Station

7. Simon Kenton at Meade County

8. DuPont Manual vs. 3A #4 Central

9. Pleasure Ridge Park at 4A Valley

10. Ballard at 2A #4 DeSales

Kentucky Class 6A takes on Indianna in Week 0, who will prove superior? Can anyone beat Trinity this year? Is St. Xavier the team to knock the Shamrocks off? How far away is Male? Who will we see move after Week 0? Week 1?

I'm a hard core Trinity guy, you all know that. I'm also realistic. Trinity's defense should be stout. Trinity's O is YOUNG, replacing the entire O-Line and backfield. As has been stated elsewhere Trinity's first 5 games are against very strong opponents. If they survive those relatively healthy I think they will be in a great position to make a run at the inaugural championship weekend in the grocery cart.

Good luck to all the KY schools against the HOOOOOSIERS!

I might get to go to the T game and am pretty excited about seeing that one!

SK is too high given 8 new starters on a defense that was porous last year and an OLine w/o Colton Williams.

Connor has a shot at joining Ryle and SK as the big dogs in NKy 6A. I thought they took a big step forward last year.

Looks good to start the season.

SK will be better than Ryle and Lafayette this year. Friday night against X will see what both teams have.

I will believe it with Conner when I see it.

And it appears @Footballforever74 disagrees with you on Simon.

Can anyone catch Trinity is the question?

That is the million dollar question.

We get a sneak peek Friday night against #5 Ryle and any of the other top four teams are worthy opponents.

I think so too. I was hoping that Ryle got their chance this year because I liked Tanner Morgan an awful lot when he was at Hazard.

I didn't know Tanner but I always loved giving his dad a hard time.

I talked to one of the Ryle coaches recently, they seem pretty confident, I guess we shall see.

I spoke to him a couple times and he was a well rounded individual. I wish he would of stayed at Hazard all four years.

Rondale Moore sure helps that young offense. Good luck this season!
