  1. Hopefully this is a better game than last year. I think the 2 factors in this game are Dixie's lines and SK's qb play. Dixie has the skill players and it sounds like they've done very well in their 7v7 and first 2 scrimmages. I don't know how those scrimmages were formatted as they may have been glorified 7v7 games. Can Dixie's oline provide time for Gregg and holes for the backs? And can the d-line hold the line instead of getting driven back? SK has a new qb, so can he stay calm under pressure. If I'm SK, I pound the rock until Dixie proves they can stop it. Ride your ground game behind the big linemen. Defensively, contain Gregg and don't let him out of the pocket. If I'm Dixie, I stack the box and force SK to beat them through the air. Make them one-dimensional. Offensively, be aggressive and take the big shots when there.
  2. Yes. They finally have a true freshman team this year.
  3. I watched Highlands vs Elder at Paul Brown in the past, and couldn't remember if it was a part of this event or not. As for ticket prices, I went back through those old threads, and they did increase ticket prices for these events. However, it looks like they stopped doing so recently.
  4. I'm with you. I HIGHLY doubt he switched things up due to the parents. I think he tried something last year that he thought gave that team the best chance to win some games. An offensive style that NKY hasn't seen in a while, if ever. With a year under his belt, a full coaching staff, and seasoned players, I look for improvements on both sides of the ball along with a change in styles. The kids seem to respond to him. For the first time in years, he has an actual freshman team. I think the future is good for Dixie.
  5. It's purely a money grab now as it's just putting a sponsor on a regular season game that's already scheduled and being played. If I'm not mistaken, they would increase ticket prices for these games in the past as they tried to sell it as some big event that it was not. I'm not sure if that is still the case or not. The all day event at Nippert and possibly even at Paycor as I remember watching some high school games there was the way to go with this event.
  6. I believe it was '96 or '97 when they went with the 49ers look.
  7. Last year he was in the best spot for the team as they had one of top middle linebackers in NKY last year.
  8. Yep. Same company is still putting stands in at Lloyd, so they're 2 months off schedule. Only chance of a home game this year is if they host a playoff game.
  9. I believe that is him in the senior pic above, #3. Sounds like Dixie will have the playmakers, but will they have an offensive line?
  10. Much needed replacement. The turf was getting rough.
  11. As for Rash, I was also told he will not be at BW next year. He was promised an administration position, and that did not occur. As for the relationship with previous staff and players, I haven't heard much. For one previous coach, I know he was told he was no longer needed, and that was the extent of things. I did talk to a current player last week as he was the ump for my baseball game, and he said he really liked the new coachl
  12. You all got a good one.
  13. I love the look of the field, but that black turf is going to be brutal for goalkeepers and officials working the sidelines. You can feel the heat coming through the soles of your shoes when standing on black turf. If they're not using the black rubber fill, it might not be as bad.
  14. Hopefully they sideline and track aren't so close, or at least don't have a concrete curb.
  15. I don't foresee any changes like you saw last year. Nearly all in the 2024 and 2023 classes are already playing for their high schools. There is only 1 2024 that I'm aware of that doesn't play high school, and that likely won't be changing. You may see 1 or 2 at NDA not play depending on who they hire as a coach. Ryle will likely be getting Emma Price back off an ACL injury, which will be a big help for them.
  16. I agree. It just seems like it's getting worse.
  17. Seeing multiple social media posts today along with being at a baseball tournament this weekend got me thinking even more about youth sports. Are things starting to get out of hand? This weekend, I saw 4 boys walking around in slings with arm injuries. I saw where an 8u softball team played 5 consecutive games in 1 day. Tackle football is being played right now, and the comments were they rarely practice so just going out and playing games.
  18. Did Bengals just trade back and lose their TE?
  19. I tried Uzzu TV a couple years ago, and the streaming quality was solid. At the time, you could select from the home or away broadcast of the games. Looks like it's $20 per month, or $130 for the year.
  20. Assuming high school policies are similar to youth organizations in their setup (not their actual coverage and costs), as each sport is covered differently under 1 policy. You define the criteria of the participants for each sport, and the schools/districts set them up based on KHSAA eligibility guidelines.
  21. You hit all my thoughts as to why I posted this to see if anyone else has heard the same.
  22. The person I heard it from is friends with some freshmen parents. So I didn't hear it directly, but from a reliable source. However, I know we have some CCH people on here so was curious if there was any truth behind it at all.
  23. I heard earlier today that Ruthsatz has told players and parents that if you want to play basketball at CCH, they will not be allowed to play football anymore. Is there any truth to this from those in the know?
  24. With today's refrigerators, I completely agree with you. And my coolers are packed well in advance too. However, growing up, my dad had an old 40s/50s light/mint green fridge that kept drinks borderline frozen. You open a can, and it would have a nice layer of ice/slush at the top. It wasn't full slush, just the top layer. That's when I learned to appreciate an ice cold beer. Lol.
  25. That would be a good hire for your Bluebirds.
