With the departure of Suli Kayed from NDA, they are in need for another leader of the program.  I have a strong gut feeling I know who would fit into that role perfectly with a resume that oozes NDA.

Hillary Johnson, current Head Coach at Simon Kenton.

This past year was Coach Johnson's first year at SK where she posted a 14-5-4 record.  The prior 5 years she was the Head Coach at NCC and posted a record of 50-48-4 record.

Hillary is a NDA alum (c/o '05) was a Senior when they won state in 2004.  After graduating college she was an Assistant Coach at NDA for 8 years prior to taking on the NCC Head Coaching job.

Anybody else have any other front runners in mind???

I have another name for you Frank. What about Alex Dean??? He has a nice success story taking Highlands to the State Finals twice and winning Region 3 Xs.  No idea why Dixie didn’t go with him when Sturm retired.  Would he want to lead NDA???

Boy wouldn’t that be something?  Dealing with NDA parents could not be any worse than those at Highlands could it?

Or having an Administration that doesn't backup and support the Coach doing their job.....

Have to ask the glaring question… why would anyone want to coach there after the way Suli was treated? Seems like if you have a good thing at SK or wherever you are, staying there would be much better for her mental health!

Here is my theory on Coach Johnson:

• being a NDA alum you can overlook a LOT, I am sure she is thinking this was my school I can make it work....a sense of homegrown pride
• Personally, I think the talent level would be better for her to get a Region title at NDA vs HHS/Dixie instead of being at SK vs South Oldham every year.
• Based on her leaving NCC high and dry during Dead Period last year to head to SK, I get the feeling that bigger programs regardless of the potential drama storm she will be walking into at NDA is something that she would overlook......Now will she regret once she gets there?  Time will tell.....

How many state championship winning coaches have the Highlands parents either made quit or gotten fired?

I’ve heard the rumors spreading and many of you have reached out personally, so I would like to clear the air. NDA has not reached out to me regarding the women’s soccer position. I love where I am with the ⚽️ Pioneers… so much so that I have just accepted a new position teaching at Simon Kenton this fall!

You know what this really tells me.....

Boy does NDA have issues!!!  When a former student athlete/former Asst Coach wouldn't want to come back to NDA to take up the reigns as the Head Coach.

I am glad she is happy where she is at SK.

Now back to the opening.....anyone hearing anything??

Brian Woeste is the new head coach for the Pandas. He served as an assistant to Dave Gronotte for six years from 2014 through 2019.
