Simply based on the last few years of how these teams played this is a really nice lineup of games.

Plus, the MAC might be one of my favorite Athletic Complexes in NKY.....great parking, plenty of stands to sit in and watch a bunch of soccer games.

I am sooooooo looking forward to this season getting kicked off.

In regards to all these NKY teams, anyone hearing anything about any player movements?  Wondering if we will see another "out of no where" superstar entering the High School play like we did with Abby Unkraut and Maddy Schlueter last year.  Or any superstars maybe retiring from High School to concentrate on the "club" circuit?  I haven't heard or seen anything to indicate any of this....In regards to girls maybe concentrating only on "club" I am wondering if there might be some at NDA if they don't hire a coach soon that do just that based on the uncertainty of who that new coach might be.

Anyone, Anyone, Anyone......

I am also excited about the coming season although I don’t want to wish the summer away. No big changes as far as I know at Holy Cross. We did graduate half our starting lineup including  the goalie and three back line starters leaving only next year junior Ella Lehmkuhl on the defensive line so that’s going to be tough.  I imagine there will be some movement of people in positions, but we still have some really solid returners in soon to be seniors Ivy Hoffman and the three Saalfeld cousins Addie, Bella and Jenna.  It should be a fun season.

I wouldn’t expect any “out of nowhere” superstars to show up mainly because I am fairly certain that all of the top 2024 players have continued to play HS soccer, As far as I know, all of the ECNL and GA players have consistently played HS, Highlands has a handful, NDA does as well, Holy Cross has a few, Dixie a couple and Conner has one (apologies if my numbers are exact.) As of now, all of the players at NDA are still planning to play and the girls are currently putting together their own field and conditioning program to start later this month with or without a coach.

I don't foresee any changes like you saw last year.  Nearly all in the 2024 and 2023 classes are already playing for their high schools.  There is only 1 2024 that I'm aware of that doesn't play high school, and that likely won't be changing.  You may see 1 or 2 at NDA not play depending on who they hire as a coach.  Ryle will likely be getting Emma Price back off an ACL injury, which will be a big help for them.

Game one Holy Cross 2 Scott 0.  The first half was pretty sloppy.  The Indians graduated six starters from last year so are still gelling, but as the game went on got better.  Junior Klais did a nice job in the goal after being JV goalie last year with minimal varsity experience. Junior Lehmkuhl, the only defensive starter left from last year, anchored the back line.  Senior and leading scorer from last year Hoffman didn’t play.  The Indians are going to have to up their game to hang with Highlands on Monday.
