Dixie travels to Independence for the season opener. Dixie is lead by do everything Brach Rice. He plays all over the field. Armani Gregg is the starting qb. He has had a great off-season. Dixie is loaded will skill players. If the oline and dline has a good season Dixie will be a tough team to handle. They will be greatly improved from last year. The coaching staff is doing great things.

Simon Kenton is ready for a  great season as well. The Pioneers are lead by Seniors linemen Aba Selm, Jacob Putthoff and Cohen Schmidt. Sophomore Tucker Ober is the starting qb he looked pretty good in the first scrimmage running and passing.  Senior RB Kaleb Bleier and Junior Durrell Turner will get most of the carries at running back. Seniors Nathan Kitchens and Carter Blades return at wide receiver. Defense is lead by Senior linebacker Mark Ober and Senior Luke Schieber at DB. 

This game should be a really good battle between the Kenton County schools! Good luck to both teams!

A great game to start the season off for both teams!  Looking forward to this one!

This. Right now I don’t think the line is where it needs to be. Once this group gels together this Dixie team is going to be a fun team to watch.

As far as this game, it won’t be a blowout like last season. Between Dixie’s really good skills group and an even better kicker, I think the colonels will pull out a win. (31-20). 

Great game to start the season for both. I think this game says more about SK than Dixie. Does SK have a lack of depth now that they lost so many seniors? Can the two standout lineman carry a team for a whole game when they play both sides? 

For Dixie the questions on the O-line are fair I think. All around size of the linemen on both sides of the ball may be an issue. However, they now have a D1 commit at linebacker (Rice), and D1/D2 prospects at safety (Rodriguez, Neal), and corner (Mwamba). No question Dixie will be more athletic than last season. Can they protect and block for all of the athletes they have is the biggest question mark.

Last year SK put 60 plus points on a team they didn’t have too. No way this game hasn’t been circled since it went final last fall. I say Dixie 28 SK 21.

Putthoff and Selm played both ways last year nothing new for them. SK will probably control the clock and get the run game going.

Seen where Dixie won 35 to 0 over Western Hills in there scrimmage last night in Cincinnati. 

Can't wait for next week the season starts!
