  1. I came by the field earlier it was snow covered a little bit, you can't see any markings on the field. It's supposed to get in the mid 30's and sunny, hopefuly that will melt the snow. But its probably going to be a little slick.:scared:
  2. Danville was 3A state Champs in 1984 and 2A state Champs in 1987 under Tom Duffy.
  3. Danville has a good ground game also, the Ads have been very good at taking what the defense gives them. They have a good balanced attack. Their biggest problem has been making silly mistakes this season. But Coach Harp has the them focused and says they are all comitted to playing well in the playoffs.:thumb:
  4. Danville played a pretty good game against Glasgow. The score could have been higher for the ADS, but Grey didn't play in the second half due to a gimpy ankle, and Danville went to the run game in the second half, with the game well in hand plus played a lot of young guys. I hope Devin Hester is O.K. he is the anchor on the D-line. If the Ads come back healthy and limit the silly mistakes and turnovers, I'll take Danville 35-14. Green County you better be tough with your pass defense.:walk:
  5. Absolute blow out City, Frankfort can do what they want in this game. The score may not be as high as it could be, because Frankfort may try to rest some players before the play offs.:dancingpa
  6. Well that's certainly a positive outlook on things. This team needs fan support not tearing down, since you are so down on the team, why don't you just move on to basketball. I don't think all the fault lays on Coach Harp, some kids are not as disciplined as they need to be, maybe they need to be on the bench. Some of the assistant coaches need to step it up. But, they have won the district and in my opinion not that far from being a challenge to winning the championship. Lets all get behind them thru thick and thin.:walk:
  7. I was at the game, congratulations to FHS you guys took advantage of the DHS turnovers, made a big play at the end of the game. How you let anybody get behind you in that situation is beyond me. BUT, I also think some of the coaches need to man-up and shoulder some of the respnsibility. First there has got to be a way to get and keep the players focus, when Danville was warming up they seemed to be just lop-lollying around. Second the method of play calling in the first half kept the DHS offense out of rythum. It's taking to long to get plays called from the press box, then the quaterback has to look at coach Brannock to see if he wants to run the play or check out of it. Takes to long, caused several delay penalties and frustrates the players. Danville has the ability to play far into the play offs, they came back on a good athletic team, just dug too big of a hole at the begining. It's play off time now fans get behind this team they deserve it. When the play offs start in two weeks everybody is 0-0. DHS is at home for all their playoff games. This is their chance to shine. Lets get behind them and show our support.:thumb:
  8. I think Fort Campbell has to be favored, but if the Danville Admirals play like they are capable of in the play offs, then Danville will get to play FC at Admiral Stadium. Sam Harp has been very good at preparing his team for big challenges over his career in play off games, especially at home. This could make for a good challenge for Fort Campbell.:walk:
  9. Looks like it may be wet Friday, this could be to Danville's Advantage and slow down the Simms kid. Plus last week when Danville needed to score they got in the I-Bone and drove down the field.:flame:
  10. I just looked at the scoreboard and Washington only scores 40 points on Bethlehem, it was my understanding they had few players and not that good. Didn't they even forfeit to Corbin earlier in the season? What happened? Was anybody at the game that can give some details?
  11. Danville just needs to focus and concentrate, Maybe not gamble so much when they are playing one on one pass coverage. I'm not saying not to be agressive, but not so agressive that you can't make the tackle if you miss the interception. If you think back over the games this season this has happened several times and in crucial situations, and the same player at least 3 times. These have always seem to be big momentum changers and hurt the ADS. Also, at not so frequent occurrences the Ads have a break down on run defense. I know the problem is not a lack of quickness and speed, but blowing assignments and not lining up correctly, when these happen it looks like holes open up big enough to drive a bus through and another big play happens. This doesn't happen all the time, I don't think our line is getting blown off the ball, they just have a mental lapse. So coaches bare down on these guys this week, do what ever it takes to get their attention and keep them focused on shutting down Washington County, If we can do that Danville wins 56-7. GO ADS!!!!:flame::dancingpa
  12. I agree Adopted Admiral, I think special teams play this season has been horrible especially kick off coverage and has put us in bad situations. When we get the open week at the end I hope this will be addressed in depth
  13. Danville is way better than Mayfield this year and Pikeville hasn't been good for a long time. Danville has good talent, I think its self discipline that may be lacking, and there are several lines of thought on that. But, HEARSAY, don't be so quick to pile Danville in with the rest of the teams you are listing. They have the ability to beat anyone in 2A, they just need to learn to play consistantly, and take care of the football. You won't find any team looking forward to playing Danville in the playoffs this year, except may be Fort Campbell because they seem to be the real deal and probably would like the challenge.
  14. Bardstown had a better team than most think, they have played a tough schedule. In my opinion everybody thinks Green County is so good, I'm confident that Danville and Bardstown can handle Green County in tyhe playoffs, there schedule is weak at best. In my opinion also the non-saftey call was correct, 2 points didn't decide the game anyway.
  15. Danville was way flat, In fact they looked like they were sleep walking in the first half. Coach Harp peeled the paint and woke the guys up at half time. Danville scores 28 points to Campbellsville 7 in the second half.:flame:
  16. Danville really needs to get Derick Henderson back eligible for this game. They also need to get Will Dunn back healthy. He was really contributing on offense and defense when he went out with the ham string engery.
  17. I heard from a reliable source that Derick Henderson did not play in the game because he was ineligible for low grades, Anybody else got any infromation? If Danville is going to make a run in the Play Offs they need him on the field.
  18. I heard Mary Jo Perino, from lex18 sports say yesterday that some sports company had the Danville/Boyle Co. match up rated as one of the top 20 rivalry games in the NATION this week. Yes I said Nation. What a great thing for both of these programs.:dancingpa
  19. Hatz, I played for Danville 1978,79,80,81. Which would make my career 3-1. Of course the 1980 win with Pernell Doneghy at quaterback started the long win streak for Danville in this series at around 18+ straight. Besides the State Championsip games this has always been the bigest game of the year. This year I think both teams are good, I think the game will be close but I'll go with my Admirals 21-17.:thumb:
  20. I heard coach Harp say on the radio the admirals gained over 600 yards on offense, over 400 passing and 195 rushing. This offense is only going to get better with repition. The defense will be fine, they just need to get the secondary more focused, 2 of Russel Countys touchdowns were blown coverage, at other times the defense looked good. I think consistancy will come with time. Danville 35 Southwestern 14.
  21. OLDSKOOLPLAYMAKER, The offensive senior leader will be the quaterback, Trey Grey, I saw him before the scrimmage and he was all business, I thought he showed good leadership on the field, he also showed some agressive play by running over a would be tackler on their first offensive series. The defense needs a senior leader to emerge, could be Devan Hester, he got a little nasty on the second defensive series. I want to see this team show more agressive play.
  22. As a fan I don't like the scrimmage format that was used, or the three team scenerio. I am assuming that the coches are getting to evaluate their teams and thats what counts at this point. Danville is loaded with some good looking physical kids. They need to do some work on the interior D-line, and just get some reps with the new offense. When they get that offense going in rythum with the athletes they have, they will put up a lot of points this year. I think in a game situation scrimmage last night the ADS would have scored a lot more. Also the ADS first team defense looked much better the second round of the scrimmage.
  23. Hopefuly, Fort Campbell will make it, because the road to Louisville will come thru Danville this year. I know the coaches and players were not pleased with their showing against Bardstown last year, way to many senseless mistakes, but as I said earlier those sources are gone.:flame:
  24. I'm not convinced that Fort Campbell was that dominate last year, they didn't beat Bardstown convincingly at home, and I don't think New Cath was as strong last year as they were in 2006. With that being said Danville doesn't have some of the sources of negativity they had last year, and the word is coach Harp isn't going to put up with any non sense this year. Sam Harp is a master at developing line play as the year progresses. Danville's defense will be fast and nasty this year. The offense has plenty of experience, skill, and speed at Quaterback, running back, and receiver. And remember Fort Campbell this year the road to Louisville will come thru Danville.:dancingpa:walk::ylsuper:
