If I thought Manual had a better shot, I'd be all about it (how often will a team have played the Big 3 twice in one season?). Unfortunately, my sadist nature is only so strong... this wouldn't be to my liking.

It'd be cool to see one of the Big 3 play them. However, I say let Manual have at them. You do indeed have to play the best to be the best, and it'd hopefully be good preparation for the big games. I mean, Manual got creamed by Brentwood (who's in the top rankings for Tenn.) for the 1st game of this year, and being a young team, I'd say they bounced back fairly well. They couldn't beat T or X, but they made somewhat of a game with both.

If I remember, next time I go to Manual stadium I'm bringing a camera.

I agree... if PRP plays St. X close then the Male game will have been one of the bigger flukes in 4A history, IMO.

Manual will have to have a stellar performance against Male and the playoffs (which easily could mean a stellar performance against Male twice) to be nominated for Coach of the year, IMO. Although he has done very well with such a young, and fairly small (physical size-wise) squad. I'm going to reserve my opinion of the Manual-PRP game for that thread on Saturday morning. The more I think about this game, the more I think St. X will try and match Male's performance. But there will be more of a focus on Vic to dominate, whereas Doug was one of many weapons that Male used. But because of such a need to bounce back, and because they're getting their QB back, I just don't see PRP being as flattened as they were with Male. I'll say X- 42 PRP- 14

I hope Nichols comes up with a heck of a game plan for the second half. This Manual team needs to play to win, not play to be close-but-just-behind the Big 3. But I do like how they seem to be improving each week. That's a very good sign.

Yeah, that was probably Western. Manual played EASTERN in the 2nd week, and won soundly.

Wow, my high school sports world is turning upside down! Best of luck to you, Jody! I feel bad for Jason, yet I don't like this new guy already, since he's not Jody Demling. That's kind of why I feel bad for him. Just kidding. I look forward to checking out his work.

Trinity's is fantastic, and I'm sure St. X's will be as well. Male's is real nice (get's SOOO crowded during the Male/Manual games, though), and Manual Stadium keeps improving (yeah, yeah, the lights issue gets all the talk, but still). I also liked Danville's stadium, but I can't really think of any others that come to mind. I wouldn't trade Manual stadium for any of the others mentioned above.
