  1. http://cincinnati.com/blogs/preps/2010/04/28/usa-today-7on7-national-tournament/ Sounds interesting. I wonder if the KHSAA rules, which seem to be constantly in motion regarding 7v7, would allow participation by KY teams?
  2. I would find it hard to believe they would even consider him.
  3. Maybe, but that would still seem high.
  4. Quite possibly, however that is one fact. It all depends what other facts the KHSAA made their decision based upon. I don't want to sound like I am on the side of the KHSAA, I just don't know what went into deciding this case. What I do know is that it isn't as simple as saying he moved from mom to dad or it is identical to another case of a student moving from x to y. I hope the kid gets to play.
  5. I don't believe that. My guess is that the vast majority of transfers of students, athletes or not, has to do parents moving, change in family structure, etc.
  6. Unless the situations the dad mentions were identical (and what two situations are exactly identical), I don't think it serves him well to even bring them up.
  7. Arguably the best athlete the state of KY has produced in the past 10 years was Tyson Gay and virtually no one saw him compete.
  8. Sadly Campbell County Schools have some of the worst leadership around.
  9. Hate to see him go. Thought he did a great job at Holmes.
  10. What is up with CC's football field? I was there for the track meet last Saturday and it looked awful.
  11. Almost any school can be good at any single sport if they put all their time, energy, and resources to that one sport. I have no affiliation with Notre Dame, but my guess is that if you look at what is invested (not just money) in softball at ND it is far less than what is invested in say soccer or volleyball.
  12. I remember that game well and did think that PT got a raw deal.
  13. Which again speaks to how huge of an upset it was for Newport to beat Holmes in the region.
  14. Christian County can't shoot. So if you can keep them from getting in the paint and to the rim, handle the press, and even score a few in transition, they are certainly beatable. With that said, they are athletic enough they certainly could win it all.
  15. Hard to watch Scott County and not think this team as a whole is less than the sum of their parts.
  16. Is that similar or different than the "non-professionls" who coached them for the 13 years leading up to their freshman year?
  17. I know there are comparisions to AAU, club sports, and open gyms, but does the KHSAA allow any other sport besides football to have out-of-season practices with their coach?
  18. Then he hung on so long that he physically couldn't even finish a season. Sometimes the "right" decision of when to quit has nothing to do with talent in the system or the teams future prospect. Also I am not a believer in that because you won at a high level previously in your career that somehow allows you to stay on indefinitely when your teams are no longer winning at that level.
  19. I didn't realize that everyone had to play to seed a tourney. You better inform the NCAA selection committee, because I don't think all 65 have played. Really, a very, very, very, very, (I met your verys and raised you one) poor response.
  20. The NCAA seeds 65 teams. Here you are seeding 16 teams and it isn't that hard to get it right. Not to mention you are not even seeding the top 16 teams in the state, which makes it even easier. Funny how no one wants to seed the state tourney, but everyone wants a district tourney to be seeded.
  21. True. I do find it amusing the people who say this isn't among the biggest have yet to offer any that are bigger. I am sure there are some other big ones and I personally would like to hear them.
  22. I believe generally NKY fans like Holmes, like Henley and tend to pull for them when they are playing somebody else besides the team they usually pull for. Ryan Ernst wrote a blog last year asking the question, if other NKY schools were really pulling for Holmes. I believe they were and were genuinely happy for Holmes. There is no need to even mention Highlands in this thread. There are far too many threads that go in that direction as it is.
