mcpapa Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 Sounded like Christian County was too deep and too quick.
Qryche11 Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 I had a feeling that CC was too deep and athletic for the Cats to stay with them for 4 qtrs. Great season for the Wildcats, one that will always be remembered atleast by me. The whipping they gave Holmes was unreal.
Walter Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 No surprise here, IMO. Christian Co is wayyy too quick and athletic for Newport and without looking at the boxscore, I'm gonna assume Hickey had a big game. Don't be surprised if CC is playing Saturday morning. Congrats to CC on the W and good luck to the Newport seniors.

EZ Living Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 Not surprised by the outcome. A little surprised by the margin though but did not see or listen to the game so don't know if it was ever close. Newport probably got caught up in the moment of being on the big stage and struggled with CC's quickness. CC has been there before and will probably give Scott Co. all they can handle on Friday afternoon.

Going into the 4th they were down by 9. It didn't get out of hand until the last 2-3 minutes of the 4th quarter. A valiant effort by Newport. I hope they keep their heads held high. It has been a memorable season! :dancingpa
Eagle2013 Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 Congratulations to Newport on an outstanding season.
oral32 Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 I had a feeling that CC was too deep and athletic for the Cats to stay with them for 4 qtrs. Great season for the Wildcats, one that will always be remembered atleast by me. The whipping they gave Holmes was unreal. Congrats to Newport for a fine season. The whipping they gave Holmes was a perferct storm situation - Newport probably could not have played any better and Holmes could not have played any worse. Any time a team shoots 9/45 or 20% they better lose. That is why you lace them up you never know what will happen.
Ranger Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 CC's Press was too much for Newport but as others have said, much closer game than the score. Congrats to Newport on their trip to Rupp. You represented NKY with class. First time I have seen Hickey- other than Panda's pictures. Very fun player to watch. He didn't display much of an outside shot but I guess he doesn't have to with drives like this. I have about 10 more shots that look just like this one!
mcpapa Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 Hickey is a very nice player. Mason County caught CC at the right time earlier in the season; they were without Wilson and had traveled across the Commonwealth to Ashland. Got off to a terribly slow start but made it very close by game's end. Congrats to Newport on a great season, and to Christian County on the win.

nptwildcat Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 Great season by the Wildcats - Congratulations! Christian County was just too quick, not too deep. I think they only played 7 boys, maybe 8. Good luck to them!
Ranger Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 This was a blown play because #33 traveled but it looked like #22 came off a trampoline.
