Ryle is a team that has improved as the year has gone on. The guys that have been going both ways for Ryle have been doing it for a full season if not for two full seasons so I would say they’re conditioned to it. #21 and #0 for Ryle are elite players and will cause the Rocks offense and defense issues and the Ryle QB does a good job of keeping plays alive with his feet. I’ll take Ryle to win 17-14.

I think it will come down to what Trinity’s offensive game plan is. If they lean on their run game then I think Trinity will win the game by 2 scores. If they become pass happy I think they may struggle to move the ball consistently and all FD to gain confidence and momentum.

Looks great but also long over due.

If FD can slow down the Trinity run game, then I think they will win in a close game.

But what other instate schools are willing to play St. X? And if they are would they be a better option that what they already have? Who would you remove other than Floyd Central? Ryle played CAL who go beat pretty handily by Central. They're not going to take Male off.

The last four seasons St. X is 3-2 against Trinity on the varsity level. So Coach Wallace has done a good job of turning the tide on that front to make the rivalry more of one, even with last year being two butt kickings by Trinity. This group of juniors were really good as freshmen, so we’ll see how the development has gone with that group. The best players on the field for St. X this year were juniors, but the biggest area of concern is at the line of scrimmage. Not sure how one solves that problem in one year, but the Tigers will have to figure that part out.

If you're talking about #24 who played corner the last two seasons, my guess is they have tried him at various positions, and I would imagine based off some of his plays at corner he doesn't have the best ball skills to play WR.

Is it good enough? Absolutely not. Do loses happen in the playoffs that are unexpected, yes. That's what makes win or go home situations so exciting. Coach Wallace has won a lot of games over the years and understands what it takes to win at a high level and get things turned around so they can move past the second round. Two things come to mind over the last three years... I think if they are able to beat Male in 2022 the fan base isn't as down because they would have probably won back-to-back and the second is they have to beat Manual in the regular season. If they beat Manual in '23 they don't have to play Trinity in the second round and if they beat Manual this season, they don't have to see Ryle. Just like the sports clique... you either get better or get worse, you never stay the same. I think Coach Wallace and the program will take a long look at what they're doing and find ways to ensure they are getting better each day.

This is a great question. This group was consistently inconsistent all year. At times early in the season they looked like a top team at other times they looked like an average team...very odd. Unfortunately, this team peaked against Trinity, and as stated by many this team struggled at the line of scrimmage. Major holes on the OL, not physical enough at the defensive line. Ryle was significantly bigger than X in the trenches and they controlled the line of scrimmage. Many St. X fans used the Bowling Green game as an outliner, and I'm sure that was just wishful thinking but in reality, that was who this team was the second half of the season. Struggled to block on offense, unable to tackle and make stops on defense. Disappointing season for the Tigers for sure.

Sounds contradictory. But I guess we see what we want to see.

Should be a great environment for high school football on Friday night. I know St. X won by a TD a month ago, but at one point they were 31-10… so we’ll see if that means anything. Either way this should be a fun game early in the playoffs.

Running game looked better with #4 in the backfield.

Think the Tigers control this game from opening kickoff. Maybe the BG game was a wake up call this group of Tigers needed heading into the playoffs.

Simply put, didn’t see this one coming. Not how you want to end the regular season but road for the Tigers has not changed.

Those are two big losses for Male. A lot more weight is now on Harris' shoulders.

Projecting a lot… I’m not disappointed with St. X’s RPI position at this point.

Seems like St. X just can’t seem to play complimentary football the last few games. Offense has a good series or two defense gives up something, defense makes a stop offense can’t seem to capitalize on it. But Meade Co. is a quality team and at the endnote way the Tigers went on the road and took care of business, on to PRP.

I think St. X has the potential to be a championship team this season; their maturity will be tested this week and next week in how they handle their business. I think the Tigers will respond with a big win this week, but they absolutely can’t let Manual beat them twice.
