  1. Coach Klein has done a good job building on the success of the program the last couple of years. I was curious if they would take a dip, but so far, they're getting better.
  2. There were some rising seniors who played key roles for the Tigers last year, there just isn't very much depth in that particular class, there are just pieces. The rising juniors and sophomores will be counted on to fill in significant roles next year. It's nice to add competition, but I agree, if a transfer is just handed a starting spot at any position for any school it's not a great look. There is going to be a learning curve for anyone coming from a 1A school into a top 6A program. I'm not sure who the first three opponents are for Hazard, but X will open up with Owensboro, Bowling Green, and Male. So, we'll find out pretty quick how he adjusts.
  3. Looks like a good addition on paper for the Tigers; we'll see how it all plays out coming from Hazard to Louisville.
  4. Was there internal talk he would step down?
  5. The current admin has seemed to struggle with the PR part of announcements over the last year or so.
  6. The class of '27 is down from a talent standpoint, but it appears the talent has been leveled out amongst the top schools in Louisville for the '28 and '29 classes. With changes in leadership positions comes staff changes as well. I would imagine staff will be one of the top items if not the top of his "to do" list.
  7. This UK team is a joke. Starts at the top with roster management.
  8. Probably a good decision on his part until it becomes official.
  9. I think he wanted to be the HC. Looks like they just decided to go with an outside person. I know Landis had success at Frederick Douglass, and I don’t know anything about Alpharetta High School but a quick google search doesn’t show a lot of success for that school over the last two years, which is interesting.
  10. Heard Cantwell talked with X but then CAL gave him raise. Not sure about Wolfe.
  11. Those are good indicators of at least being offered the job, possibly more.
  12. Still no white smoke from Poplar Level Rd. Any insights into the progress being made for the next head coach as the school heads into Christmas Break?
  13. My top two guesses would be Clark or the Manual HC.
  14. Any news or information from Preston Hwy?
  15. Trinity is no longer on their schedule, which is huge plus for them.
  16. I don't think when you hire a coach you expect the HC to be there for 30 years, but I also don't know if a school wants to keep transitioning every 5-8 years like St. X has done with their last two head coaches. Wolfe should be a top candidate, and JCPS has changed things with busing that has affected the Male football roster. But I just am not sure how well he's going to be able to compete with getting top players away from Trinity, Male, Manual, and CAL if this was an issue for him at Male when he will have to actively build a roster with no guarantee of any set kids from a set school. A state championship coach but doesn't mean he's the best option for what the school needs. Obviously just my opinion from the outside.
  17. Paul is a good guy, and Doss is a tough job. I agree, I can see him going to another school and finding some success for himself and that program.
  18. Wolfe is a great coach, but I'd like to see a younger coach brought in with some "energy". Also, Wolfe's Male teams took a dip in talent over the last few years. That could be for a number of reasons, but if he is struggling to get players in at Male then how will he be able to get players in at St. X? If they hire Wolfe, who is probably in his mid 50s, the athletic department will right back where they are now in 8-10 years, going through another coaching search.
  19. I think it’s been “live” for about a week and the 2025 season is officially in the books for all teams so I’d assume early this week they’ll start narrowing down the current applications and start first round of interviews end of this week. But that’s just a guess.
  20. The schedule will be the difference in this game. Bowling Green has played a better schedule which has put them in various scenarios throughout the season; Atherton has played a relatively weak schedule and that will be the difference. Bowling Green will know how to handle the ups and downs of a big game. BG 28-17.
  21. Probably closer than a couple of weeks ago but still see Manual winning with ease.
  22. As stated earlier, these two teams will likely meet in a couple of weeks. I think this will be a close game because I can see Manual keeping thing pretty vanilla. Male's defense is solid, but offense is not easy watch. Manual wins 21-7.
