  1. FD seems to have a lot of “dudes” this year. Hope the Tigers can hang tomorrow night.
  2. It looks ok. I think Massey uses some information in their algorithm from the previous season to assist with their preseason rankings which can always lead to good discussion before the season kicks off.
  3. Probably from when he coached in the East/West All American game a few years back.
  4. A little bit of video I saw I believe X played all three QBs. Havill against Boyle, Trimble against Anderson Co, and Andriole against CAL.
  5. Yeah, this is an interesting story. It could be a big deal or it could be on the other side of the spectrum and be a teaching certification issue. I’ve seen where coaches don’t complete certain teaching requirements and have to be removed.
  6. The wording is just odd to me... if it's potentially "temporary" why not just use "suspended" instead?
  7. Yeah, heard Trinity did well with this group of 9th graders.
  8. Reminds me of Will Rabatin. If he's a couple inches taller he has offers from big time schools.
  9. Sounded like a great baseball game. Shame it was the semi-final round.
  10. St. X wins 11-1 in 5 innings. Ballard had opportunities in the 2nd and 3rd innings with bases loaded and 1 out in both innings and could only get one total run across. That is what the Bruins will look back on and be disappointed about. After the Tigers started getting runners on base and putting pressure on the Ballard defense. Ballard I believed finished with 6 errors, tough to over come.
  11. Coach Reed has built a strong program and someone is going to take over a very good 5A program.
  12. Manual has done a nice job with the schedule the last few years. Offense should be very explosive with the return of their stud RB.
  13. Congrats to Coach Mandeville! I've worked with him in FL, and he will be a good fit for Doss.
  14. That's unfortunate for the Tigers as he showed the makings of a good one. Hope the best for him.
  15. I believe Bernard Jackson falls into this category. He won the '97 4A state championship with St. X then I believe he was on the Tennessee National Championship team.
  16. Great showing by the Tigers against some elite competition.
  17. Congratulations to Coach Hall. A young coach getting his opportunity.
  18. Congratulations to Coach Ray! I've had the pleasure to meet him a few times and reminisce about the '04 St. X/Meade County playoff game. I made sure to stay on that game and not go back to the '01 matchup.
  19. Just read the write up in the newspaper... heck of a game. Male has been tough all season and really seems to have found their confidence. 7th region is always a tough road to navigate; rest up and see if they still have enough in their legs to make a run at Rupp.
  20. Will be interesting to see what FD will do as they return to 6A. I think Trinity will get the nod of being preseason #1 because they will have the best defense returning. I think similar to last year, they're success will be determined by how their offense performs. What changes will they make, and can they improve in the red zone will be key points to look for early on. Male and Manual will be teams to watch. Male struggled without Swinney last season so it will be something to watch who can replace him and can their QB be effective in the passing game. For the Tigers, they will have to lean on their offense early on has they replace a bunch of starters on the defensive side of the ball. I know the players and coaching staff had a very sour taste in their mouths after the season ended prematurely for them. I would be willing to be their off-season is very intense to ensure they find a way to get back to playing at Kroger Field. While their defense will have to replace a number of starters, Coach Bruner and his staff do a great job of playing a lot of kids so there will be some experience returning, just not starters. The WR position and QB position is where the Tigers struggled the most last year. Had good players at the WR position just didn't have the big play guy to stretch the defenses vertically. I'd look for Marlon Harbin to be that guy this year after starting as a freshman last season. It all starts upfront and the Tigers are returning 2 OL from last years team, so they'll have to break in another group to get the job done in the trenches.
