  1. It seems the last few years they have had success at the freshmen level so we'll see if that success can translate to success at the varsity level. They were very young this year so I'd imagine the season went as expected for the coaching staff if they're being realistic about their expectations. It has been a very stagnate program over the last decade if not more. The next three years will be telling to see exactly where this program is heading because of the young players they have. Will they continue to be a team/program that can stay within 10 points of the Trinity, Male, and Ballard's but not really threaten them or can they take the next step and prove they can be a real threat in the region. As a program they have to find a way to be a winner and not just part of the top region in the state.
  2. Young Tigers seem to be fading down the stretch. I thought the win over Male in regular season might give them some confidence heading down the stretch, but just don't seem to have enough right now. They play hard but are probably a year or two away from being a legit threat in an always tough 7th region.
  3. There seems to be some young talented players in the program, but IF the school decided to take the program in a different direction I wouldn't be surprised. I don't think they will, but I could understand IF a change was made.
  4. Any information on incoming freshmen? The Tigers have done a good job of upgrading the talent level in their freshmen classes the last few years.
  5. No idea. Also, first week has been when they have played Male the last number of years. I'm sure they have their reasons, I just don't know what they are.
  6. Struggled being consistent in the passing game last season; should be improved this year as they return their starting QB and a number of young receivers. OL returns 2 starters from last year, so that will be a work in progress early on. Lost by 1 last season to Male, and controlled the line of scrimmage with a passing game that was pretty non-existent that game. Things happen against quality teams. Trinity's defense will be very good, but just like X they have some question marks on offense heading into the 2023 season.
  7. Pretty consistent with what they've had the last few years. I am surprised Ryle was renewed just because of the way the game played out last year. Glad to see Elder is on the schedule.
  8. Connecting some dots... looking at BG's calendar they have St. X scheduled for October 27th. So it looks like the Purples and Tigers are last week of the season again for this cycle.
  9. Just looked at the BG calendar and they're playing at St. X on Oct. 27th. BGHS Athletics - Football (google.com)
  10. Good for Coach Griff! One of the top defensive minds in the area; glad to see is last season was a success.
  11. His he the best basketball coach in school history? It does seem in his 22 years he has taken to program to a new level.
  12. Tigers are very young this year and have played the top teams very tough. X could be a problem for some teams complete come tournament time.
  13. Look forward to seeing him play and develop. Wouldn’t be surprised to see a number of sophomores to be getting some significant time on the varsity level. Also the current group of freshmen might just be a reason Coach Wallace sticks around a few more years in Poplar Level Rd.
  14. Listened to it on iHeart; sounded like a very entertaining game. Both team were able to answer the other team’s run. Good job Tigers!
  15. This... Male struggled throwing the football consistently, which lead to a few of their loses last season. Finding a replace for Swinney will be key for the Male offense this offseason. Also, Swinney took a beating over the last two season, so finding a couple of RB options is big too.
