St. X (4-3) will travel to Meade County (5-2) after losing to Manual 29-22. Meade County is coming off a 35-17 win over Pleasure Ridge Park. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30.

Last season, St. X won 43-0.

St. X against Manual was led by QB Mason Trimble who threw for 248 yards and two touchdowns but had two costly interceptions which were his first of the season. WR Kyle Krupp led the receivers with 116 yards and two touchdown receptions. RB/WR Marlon Harbin had 50 yards rushing and 32 receiving and had a rare no touchdowns game. K Logan Zoeller kicked three field goals. The defense was gashed by Manual on the ground giving up 190 yards. The defense was led in tackles by DL Luka Bentz with 11.

Meade County is led by QB Cade Scott who has thrown for 1093 yards and 11 touchdowns with only 3 interceptions, plus he has rushed for 180 yards and 4 touchdowns. RB Roques Wrenn leads in rushing with 428 yards and 3 touchdowns. WR Branson Stull leads with 390 yards and 2 touchdowns. WR Aidan Bratcher leads the the receivers and rushers in touchdowns with 5. LB Thomas Fox leads the defense with 66 tackles.

This is a pivotal district game with the winner most likely sewing up the #2 seed. St. X has played a vastly tougher schedule with their 3 losses by a combined 11 points to Male, Manual, and Elder (OH). It will take a great effort for Meade County to pull the upset, but it helps they are playing on their home field. Does St. X make it two years in a row over the Green Wave or does Meade County pull the upset over the Tigers?

  • But Meade does have a beautiful stadium setting/game atmosphere.

  • From my personal experience, the Green Wave concessions have an awesome burger. Cordial fans make the drive down more worthwhile for St. Xavier faithful.

Confirmed that ticket sales are at the gate for this one, cash only $5. Cheapest ticket in the state for a HS game.

I think St. X has the potential to be a championship team this season; their maturity will be tested this week and next week in how they handle their business. I think the Tigers will respond with a big win this week, but they absolutely can’t let Manual beat them twice.

I think that Meade County will be able to move the ball thru the air at times but their lack of a true run game and the lack of physicality up front on both sides of the ball will be challenging against ST Xavier.

The Meade County defensive line, especially, the right side, is prone to giving up big runs. Seam routes and crossing routes vs Meade County are there all night long.

I think that Marlon Harbin has the potential to have a big night out of the backfield for ST. X.

My prediction: ST. Xavier 42 Meade County 14

Meade beat ETown by 7. Central beat ETown by 58. The Tigers JV team would win this game.

But Meade does have a beautiful stadium setting/game atmosphere.

I've never been there but I'm looking forward to going. Thx!

When Central Hardin visited Meade County several week ago the entrance fee was only $5 cash at the gate. A Cheeseburger chips and drink was only $6.
