J-Town-Shelby Co. could be the most entertaining game of the tournament.... Not surprised by the margin of victory.....

Interesting game, listened to a bit of it on the radio, seemed like everytime JH got close South pulled away..... I dont think South Laurel-Graves Co. will be as low scoring......

Can't say I'm shocked..... Graves certainly will have to shoot better at the FT line to have any chance Friday afternoon, but overall their stat line is solid.... Russell shot 25 percent, nasty......

It sure was a pleasure to see both of these teams squads play over the past four seasons (even though it came at the expense of Bourbon Co. during my high school years)...... I think if any team can be "dominate" over the next couple of seasons, it can be Mason Co. They have the best young talent in the region IMO.... However, I think GRC could spoil plans of 10th region dominance next season. Knowles will be my preseason POY, and Humphrey always does a fantastic job..... Montgomery and Brossart can also be difficult outs..... If any team is going to have this kind of "dominance", it'll probably be Mason Co, but unlike the last four years (especially 03-05), I dont see a year coming where a certain team will be an across the board favorite....

I should have clarified this in my original post, but previous meetings are matchups from this season....... Sorry for any confusion on that, looking back I would have been confused as well.... :lol: I wish.... I dont have a problem with the games being at the Fieldhouse, but I'd like it if the region moved around every once in a while..... I live on the Bourbon-Nicholas Co. line, and it takes me about an hour to make it to Maysville. It takes me 25-30 minutes to get to Mt. Sterling, and 30-35 minutes to get to Winchester. It's a solid hour and a half drive from Winchester to Maysville...... Imagine what the people from Irvine had to go through when they played Pendleton in the region last year, that's a good two hour drive..... Like I have said in previous threads, In a perfect world, there would be a 7,000 seat arena at Blue Licks with free hot dogs and cokes, but it's just not going to happen.... In all honesty, there will be complaints no matter where you decide to play the tournament..... Whether the games are played in Maysville, Winchester, Mt. Sterling, Covington, etc. I'll make sure to atleast make it to one day of the regional tournament......

Madison Central quietly went about their business during the year, and surprised the heck out of me winning the 11th..... The Indians are a better team by 15-20 points.... Crutcher was impressive last year, and PRP has historically been able to hit FT's (see Pendleton Co. game last season)..... When I saw Shelby Co. earlier in the year I saw a team that was not only confident, but they played with a swagger you dont see from too many high school teams. I made a mental note then to keep them in mind if they made it to Lexington. 30-3 record doesn't hurt my justification either.... It'll be an ugly, close game, but I like Rockets to bring home the 2005-2006 KSHAA Boys Basketbal Sweet Sixteen Championship... Projected Score Shelby Co. 58 PRP 51 OTHER FUNGOES! Great game.... Call me crazy, but I think Middleton is a better "basketball" player than Miller, certainly during this tournament. Miller is great, and probably a better athlete with higher upside, but Middleton's stock is quickly rising. Impressed the entire tournament with him... Surely will be a top 5 player in region next season..... When you dont hit FT's, you dont win. GRC didn't hit them when they needed them in the fourth.... Preston Knowles, I'll say it again, the POY is yours to lose next year. Keep your head on straight, and things will work out..... Got a kick out of O'Hearn getting pumped on the sidelines, especially during the fourth, it was good stuff.... I'm going to go off on a soapbox here for a second, but I think the behavior of some students in student sections has gotten out of hand. Poor gesture by 2 or 3 of the GRC kids after the game was over. . There will always be a few bad apples in every section, it just makes the schools looks bad. I have been in my share of student sections during my time as a student, and there is a fine line between supporting your team and being an idiot. The behavior throughout the year of certain kids has been a joke in all honesty.... Mason-GRC should be ranked #1-2 in the 10th going into the preseason, dont be surprised to see them again next year..... Finally want to thank the people in Maysville for treating me nicely, the McDonalds fries were a bit salty, but other than that, it was great.... Congrats to the Royals on a well earned region championship....

I'm actually really surprised..... Madison Central was the "quiet" team in the 11th all year, when teams such as Scott Co, Henry Clay, and others took the glory.... Second year in a row that Scott Co. has lost in a regional final....

When in doubt, you have to pick the team who has the best player, and I think Preston Knowles will be the best player on the floor tommorrow night...... How the refs call the game will have a serious impact on the game, I'll be very interested to see how they call inside fouls against Turner/Jones..... Turner/Jones matchup will go a long way in determining who wins the game... Should be a dandy, look forward to it.....

Scott Co is one team I wouldn't want to play in Rupp (if they get there...) Brandon Salsman has done a tremendous job at both Bourbon Co. and Lexington Catholic. Catholic will continue to be a tough out aslong as he is the coach...... There are so many games I'd love to go too across the state, too bad a person has to choose.....

I liked the way they officiated the fourth much better than the way they officiated the first three quarters..... Preston Knowles, the 2006-07 POY in the 10th region is yours to lose, amazing job..... Jones musculed Belcher inside, especially when Elliott picked up his fourth early in the second half. Thought that had a huge effect on the game.... Humphrey was my COY this year, he's doing a good job of backing that up.... Buddy Biggs is one of the best things to happen to Falmouth in a long time, but you have to wonder if he'll consider other options after this year, I personally would miss him greatly, love his coaching and the style of basketball he presents.... Look forward to tommorrow night, should be a great game.....

Quality basketball game... It was nice meeting some more BGP'ers, and for those who were just randomly screaming FreakNasty, I want to thank you too.... Brossart got to the early lead they needed, I believe it was 20-11 at one point, but give Mason, and especially the Middleton kid, credit for bringing Mason back... I think Miller will need a big game tommorrow night for Mason Co. to win.... Turner-Jones will be a dandy matchup inside.... I really like the coaching staff from Brossart, very well prepared..... Very impressed with the Brossart student section.... I would also like to thank Mustang/BGGreen, it was nice talking basketball with you all on the radio.....

Brossart played very sound against a Montgomery team I thought could pull a minor upset..... Mason played sluggish against a Deming team they probably should have beat by 30.... I wasn't there, but you know there is a thing called a radio....

I predicted a 7 point win for Mason in my preview, however I was very surprised by the way both teams played Tuesday. I would not be surprised at all if Brossart wins the game... Brossart needs to get a quick lead, a 7-10 point lead would be huge.....

The problem you find with the teams from the "powerhouse" regions (7th and 11th especially) is that they wear each other down.... With that being said, I could easily see the winner of the 11th winning the state this year. I have been very impressed with Scott Co. this year, and if they get past Catholic Friday night, (I took Catholic in an upset), and win the 11th, I think they have to be mentioned as one of the three favorites to win it all.... (Pendleton and South Laurel would be my other teams I could see winning the state tournament if they get through regional play...)
