Harrison's trip to Florida must have really put some life into them, great win for Kendall and the boys....

Pendleton is my pick going in, but this year, as almost always, the field is wide open. I could see any of 5 teams (Pendleton, Mason, Brossart, GRC, Covington Scott) take home the trophy...... There is always a team that makes a deep run, Campbell, Montgomery, Harrison, and Bourbon are other teams to keep a watch on, as they could win a game in the regional tournament.....

Sounds like a dandy.... If you need a 3 in the last seconds of a game, and you had your pick of 10th region athletes, I think you'd be crazy if you didn't pick Jon Elrod..... The season finale for both teams on Feburary 24 will be an absolute treat..... Had the pleasure to watch Mason at the 5/3rd, and they seemed to have moments where they couldn't hit a basket, then caught fire. This team is dangerous, especially when Miller and Turner are playing well.... Haven't got to see Pendleton yet, but I look forward to Jan. 25 when they visit Paris to take on Bourbon Co.

They have good, solid basketball players, but they aren't as athletic as Clay, Scott, etc. They'll be a few surprises in the 11th, and Lafayette looked good when I saw them at the Kentucky Bank Shootout. They'll be a handful.....

I guess you could call this a minor upset....... Catholic doesn't have a ton of athletes, but they are well coached and should be right in the mix in March.... I still think Scott Co. is the best team in the 11th, but they defintely have stiff competition from Catholic, Henry Clay, and others.....

I wasn't expecting this at all, I thought Brossart would keep it closer..... Pendleton is defintely the best team in the region, but I personally wouldn't mind seeing this matchup against in the Fieldhouse come early March....... Brossart will be fine, tough game in Cynthiana on Tuesday, and then a tougher game at Scott a week later, but I see them winning both....

This Week 1. Pendleton Co. (8-2)-Tough win tonight against Campbell in the MCIT, competitive game tommorrow night against Brossart... 2. Bishop Brossart (9-2)-Will be playing for the #1 spot tommorrow night.... 3. Mason Co. (10-3)-Should be playing in the MCIT finals Saturday night... 4. Clark Co. (7-3)-Tough game at Bourbon Co. coming up Tuesday... 5. Scott (10-3)-Some more nice wins this week, they continue to move up.... 6. Campbell Co. (5-5)-Played Pendleton Co. tough tonight, they deserve the big jump.... 7. Harrison Co. (6-6)-Several nice wins down in Florida, but I thought the Brossart score would be closer..... 8. Montgomery Co. (10-3)-Lost to Clay and beat St. Pat by 20, 16 or 17 wins isn't out of the question of this team.... 9. Bourbon Co. (6-5)-We'll know more about them Tuesday at home against district rival GRC..... 10. Silver Grove (6-5)-Until someone else in the 10th shows me something, they look pretty set at the #10 spot...... Scott (7-3)-Decent wins against Woodford and Wolfe in the Snowball classic.... 8. Bourbon Co. (5-5)-I consider Bourbon and Campbell somewhat disappointing so far..... 9. Campbell Co. (5-4)-Appear to not be playing as well as they could be.... 10. Silver Grove (5-5)-Beat Bracken tonight for the #10 spot in my poll....

Closer than I had projected, Campbell will move up in my FreakNasty's power poll.....

Too bad I can't make it up one of the nights, but I think I can give a little insight... Mason obviously should breeze through their side of the bracket, but I would be shocked if they beat Montgomery by more than 15. Pendleton should beat Campbell, but I dont know if it will be by more than 15. Harrison can give Brossart a game, I wasn't impressed by them when I saw them at the Kentucky Bank Shootout but they played well in Florida. I think Brossart wins, but it'll be close. The potential Brossart-Pendleton game will be a joy. Those two always put on a good show. Mason-Pendleton in the final, and I'll take Pendleton by 4.

Defintely need more of that from Dumphord if they are going to make any kind of noise in the 40th and the 10th.... At times he looks like a real talent, and at times he has me scratching my head. Dumphord-Allen will be fun to watch..... When you lose Rice and Howard, that's tough to overcome, especially from a smaller school.

I saw Paris against Highlands earlier this year, and wasn't impressed. I knew they would be bad, but not that bad. They couldn't rebound, had very few good offensive looks, and were late getting back on defense. From seeing Dumphord many times over the past couple years, he lacks the rebounding and leadership skills the team needs to be any kind of contender in the 40th....

Dunaway can score in bunches, he's a decent all around player, and I really enjoying watching his game when I see HC play. They'll be a tough out in the 11th region, and it wouldn't shock me if they won it again...

Impressed by Harrison's performance, hopefully they can continue success as they move into the new year. I really like Julius Talbot's game, he sold me over with his performance against Mason Co. in the first round of the regional tournament last year...

Salsman's teams are a hoot to watch, you will defintely enjoy them as they come around in the coming weeks.

Tough, Tough loss for Catholic and my great friend Brandon Salsman..... Catholic wasn't overly impressive last night against Leslie Co, but they will be a player in the 11th later in the year, and going into district/region play. Salsman's Feburary/March W/L record over his 3 years at Bourbon was very impressive (26-10, 72 pecent), including a 20-4 mark over his last 2 years.... Reed plays a ton like Russell Allen, a Senior at Bourbon who Salsman coached the last 3 seasons.

Talk about a game of contrasting styles. If you can somehow score 55 on Trinity, you have a great shot, both teams should be major players in the 7th and 9th. Holmes has been the most athletic team I have saw this year, and Trinity is by far the best on defense, unfortantely I missed it.....

Turner is very good, but yesterday was a subpar performance from my point of view, he'll be a force the rest of the way in the 10th.....

Shelby is defintely for real, they take chances on defense, but most of the time they are so quick, that it turns into a turnover. Very solid....

Wonder who that could have been?

Holmes is the most athletic in state team I have saw in quite a while......

Trinity is very well coached, and the defense they play is special......

Mason looked solid, impressed with Miller, not so much with Turner (he fouled out in the 4th.)

(4-0)-Biggs is a master, this is a no brainer.... 2. Bishop Brossart (3-0)-Stingy Defense, only letting up 49 PPG through 3 games. 3. Mason Co. (4-0)-A couple of quality region wins (Scott, Bourbon) and a nice win at Ashland. Darius Miller will be in the running for 10th region POY. 4. Clark Co. (3-1)-Tough loss to Lex Cath (63-59), but have took care of their other 3 opponents. 5. Bourbon Co. (2-3)-A solid victory in Alexandria on Tuesday Night, and had a tough loss in the Fieldhouse, losing by 3 last week. 6. Campbell Co (3-2).-Brett White is averging 18.6 PPG. 7. Montgomery Co. (5-0)-I dont think they will challenge for the 40th region title, but Rison can make a claim for COY year in and year out.... 8. Scott (3-2)-I'm going to be completly honest, I know very little about them, but I have heard good things 9. Harrison Co. (2-4)-I saw them against Lafeyette last Saturday, and wasn't at all impressed. I think Julius Talbot has a ton of talent, we'll see how they progress. 10. Bracken Co. (4-0)-Eli Cooper is a rebounding force, averging 8.3 a game.
