Harrison Co. takes second in Beach Blowout

Featured Replies

Harrison County won its first three games and took second place in the Beach Blowout Tournament at Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., losing the championship game to an extremely talented Carver High School (Ala.), 60-32.

This was a 16-team tournament that included two other Kentucky teams. Fairdale lost in the first round and Marshall County lost in the semifinals. I think Fairdale won the consolation barcket and Marshall Co. won the third place game.

Harrison County won easily over Pace (Fla.) in the first round, then upset tourney host Ft. Walton Beach in the second round. In the semis, Harrison County beat a talented Pine Ridge (Fla.) squad and then ran out of gas against Carver. Breds trailed 12-10 after one, 31-21 at halftime, and then in the second half had nothing left.

A very good tournament with an extremely talented field.

Impressed by Harrison's performance, hopefully they can continue success as they move into the new year.

I really like Julius Talbot's game, he sold me over with his performance against Mason Co. in the first round of the regional tournament last year...

What was the final score of the final game? Not that it is so important, I'm just wondering.

I think by 10 pts. Marshall County is really good too...probably better than Harrison County...The big kid for MC is really good and they have a nice soph. guard too.

Good tourney by Harrison--Way to represent KY and the 10th region well!!
