Holmes wins a close one. An outside observor looking in , it looked like Holmes was playing 8 on 5. Jefferson and Hill both fouled out. Jefferson only had probably one legit foul called on him and that was his technical he deserved.

 

Everytime Holmes got a steal in the press a foul was called.

 

Rice dominated the first half. Trinity made adjustment at halftime played zone rest of the way out. Slowed the game down and it allowed them to take control at some points.

 

To cut to the end of the game. Holmes is down 6 with 18 seconds. Edmonson hits a 3pointer from about 30 feet. Trinity out of the timeout throws it away. Holmes gets the ball back , Edmoson airs a 3pointer and then little used senior Jamar Higgs hits a fade away 25 footer at the buzzer to send to OT.

 

Then Trinity's coach made the worst coaching mistake in the history of basketball (well maybe not ), but with Jefferson and Hill fouled out in OT he decides to play man to man now.

 

So when that decision was made Overtime can be summed up with two words Arezz Henderson. Who scored all 10 of Holmes points in overtime and couldn't not be checked.

 

Braeon Avery sophmore reserve played a key role of the bench with Holmes in foul trouble.

Arez Henderson proved to be a man tonight. This kid is unreal.

 

Greg Rice jumper is so sweet and smooth, he makes it look easy. I just like Greg one time to give a head fake on his turnaround jumper and take a dribble and slam. The head fake was their on every shot.

Talk about a game of contrasting styles. If you can somehow score 55 on Trinity, you have a great shot, both teams should be major players in the 7th and 9th.

 

Holmes has been the most athletic team I have saw this year, and Trinity is by far the best on defense, unfortantely I missed it.....

Should of been their tonight, I think in OT Henderson made a huge step on making a name for himself statewide.

Yes I was there. Didn't watch much of next game. Shelby has more size. But I like Holmes chances against anyone who wants to play these guys man on man in your face D.

I keep getting conflicting reports about Eugene Wade. It was my understanding that he left Carroll Cty to go to Shelby Cty. Do you know for sure.

No clue, really don't know much abouth Shelby. I'm predicting this on the board, I have a feeling Jefferson is going to have his best game of the tourney. I think getting fouled out and watching his team win will motivate him.

 

Also if Holmes happens to win this thing Henderson will be the MVP.
