Cold Spring is on top of the hill, Alexandria is below the hill. Gets me everytime... :lol: I have heard a ton of great things about games at BB, I still haven't made it up, one day I will defintely have to check out the joint..... Other Takes.... Speaking of Alexandria, anyone else think Campbell will make some sort of run come March? They have kinda been laying in the weeds, and you know Reitz will have them ready.... Anything wrong over in Mt. Sterling? I thought Montgomery would be a little down this year, but with the hot start, they had my hopes up. Appears to be going downhill fast..... Bourbon is an interesting team. I think they can steal a game in Maysville (granted they beat Montgomery in the district).... I really like Tyson Jones, and if Russell Allen can have a hot night, you never know..... GRC-Mason will be a dandy tommorrow night.....

St. Pat is 9-13, Bracken is 12-10, it's close, but I had Bracken #11 throughout the year. St Pat is either 11-12 right now, even though they did nudge the Polars twice in the past week.... I said throughout the year that the team that showed me they could beat Silver Grove would move into the 10 spot, Bracken did, St. Pat didn't. Brossart lost in the semis, that is correct.... Kingsize, I'm not perfect, but I'm pretty close too it. :lol:

Let's do it..... This Week 1. Pendleton Co. (21-2)-Quality region wins against Scott and Harrison keep them way ahead in this weeks poll.... 2. Mason Co. (16-7)-Beat a quality Brossart team in Cold Spring, they deserve to move up a couple spots.... 3. Clark Co. (15-7)-Tough loss to Holmes drops them down a spot, will get a chance to regain #2 spot tommorrow night in the Fieldhouse... 4. Bishop Brossart (15-7)-Loss in the All "A" final along with a disappointing effort against Mason drops them down a spot.... 5. Harrison Co. (10-10)-Loss at home against PC, but nice win against Boone.... 6. Bourbon Co. (11-9)-Decent district win on the road against Montgomery moves them up one..... 7. Campbell Co. (8-11)-Move up a spot almost by default thanks to the struggles of Covington Scott.... 8. Scott (12-10)-7 game losing streak, they haven't won a game since January 14..... 9. Montgomery Co (12-9)-Tough back to back losses at home against Bourbon and at Bath.... 10. Bracken Co. (12-10)-They beat Silver Grove, they move up to #10...... Last Week 1. Pendleton Co. (10-9)-Very disappointing effort against GRC Saturday night, however they get a chance at another 40th district opponent, Montgomery Co., on Friday... 8. Campbell Co. (7-10)-Nice region win against Scott, but this team still has to play more consistently.... 9. Montgomery Co. (12-7)-With a win tommorrow night against Bourbon, they'll move up in the poll..... 10. Silver Grove (11-7)-What else is new? Again, until someone shows me different, they are #10.....

11th region reminds me alot of the 7th last year, I could see 5 teams (Scott Co, Bryan Station, Henry Clay, Lexington Catholic, Lafayette) possibly win it.

This win was obviously nice for Brown and the boys, but they'll need to reproduce it in March at the distrct tournament.... Montgomery has overachieved (in my opinion) all year. I really thought they would be down big time, but they have been pretty competitive. Again, that goes back to the coaching of Bart Rison.... Daniel Brown has done a pretty respectable job this year. At times, Bourbon has been sloppy (2nd half against Pendleton, shot selection in accordence with time I disagreed with), but they have played very well on the road (wins at Campbell, and played Mason close in the fieldhouse). The 40th district basketball tournament will be very interesting.....

Harrison is your typical boom or bust team, they'll either play very well or play like a pile of cow manure...... However, Scott Co, talent wise, is obviously superior.... If Harrison is "on" in March, they could be dangerous to steal a game in Maysville (if they get there)...

Looks good that both will stay #1 and #2 in the FreakNasty power poll this week... Talk about a dandy regional semi/final possibility. Knowles and Jones vs. Mains and Elliott would be fun to watch with all the marbles on the line.... Knowles is the best player in the 40th district, and it's not even close....... Humphrey continues to do a great job at GRC. Like his coaching.....

I'll take Pendleton by 4 in a matchup of the top 2 teams in my power poll this week.... The two best players in the region IMO will be on the floor (Elliott and Knowles).. It'll be a dandy....

That thinking is why you almost got killed by a barrage of pennies, nickles, and dimes from a certain student section.... :laugh: :lol:

Did I say Kane Belcher was D-1 material right now? He has the athleticism, the height, the tools. He's still a little rough on the edges, but the kid has the talent to mold into a very nice D-1 prospect, much like his brother. Just cause I said he was D-1 material doesn't mean he is right now. There probably aren't 25 players in the country that are ready for Division I basketball as a junior....... Few other notes from the game.... I thought the refs let a few things go both ways. Pretty inconsistant all night... Sara Elliott, hit up the digits. :lol: Does anyone know why Chris Haley didn't play for Bourbon? I heard he has been out the last several games, but I haven't been able to get a straight answer from anyone.... Thought both student sections were solid, espeically the kids who dressed up on the Bourbon side, oh do I remember those days..... :lol:

Solid basketball game..... Bourbon had the lead most of the first 3 quarters, but I thought the offense in the second half was way too conservative, and it caused sloppy play. The decision to hold the ball at the end of the 1st half and the end of the third quarter cost Bourbon atleast two or three more valuable possessions.... Russell Allen had a decent first quarter, but he disappeared in the second half. Allen is in much better shape, but I'd like to see him seize control more..... I thought Tyson Jones played a very good basketball game..... Bourbon did a great job shutting down the 3 point shot of Pendleton. Unfortantely for them, they were unable to stop Belcher and especially Elliott inside..... Pat Elliott is the best player in the 10th region, absolutely took over the game in the second half. It was a pleasure meeting and talking to his dad (I think it was his dad atleast). Buddy Biggs was very animated in the first half, especially during one timeout when he went on one of the best tirards I have saw from a coach since Robert Ward roamed the sidelines at Bourbon during the early part of the decade..... Kane Belcher is Division 1 material...... Bourbon Co. will be fine. I think they are rough on the edges, but the overall talent is there. They are a much better team running faced pace than playing a slow game, and that showed tonight, I dont think they are as good as GRC, but I defintely think they make the regional tournament and could steal a game from one of the "big 4." It was a pleasure meeting up with some of my old friends from Bourbon (even though most were mad I picked Pendleton by 17 to win the game) and to meet some old friends and some new ones from Pendleton......

Scott seems to be in a muck..... Saw Holmes at the 5/3rd, and was very impressed. Behind Scott Co, they were the most impressive team I have saw far......

Pendleton by 17, Bourbon puts up a good fight early, but PC is too talented.... I'll be at the game, feel free to say hello, I always enjoy meeting the Pendleton Fans.....

Salsman really has Catholic playing well right now, and his winning percentage after the new year is pretty solid (between 65-70 percent at Bourbon in his 3 years). I think both of these teams, from observations I have made from seeing them once or twice this year, are very streaky. At times they are solid, and at times they are awful to watch. Both team should contend for their respective region titles.....

Huge win for Pendleton as Mains has a huge game..... Hopefully these two will meet again in the 10th region tournament, I get a kick out of watching both play.... I think Pendleton's experience, especially with Mains and Elliott (starters from last years' team of course), gives them an advantage over the rest of the teams in the 10th.....

Sounds like an Impressive, surprising, offensive perfomrance by Brossart. The regional tournament will be amazing.... Brossart will be moving up in my power poll.....

Scott Co. is the best team from the state of Kentucky I have saw so far (played Brentwood at the Kentucky Bank Shootout, and led them most of the game...). While I'm suprised Mason was defeated by such a wide margin, there isn't alot of shame in losing to this Scott Co. team......

(6-5)-We'll know more about them Tuesday at home against district rival GRC..... 10. Silver Grove (6-5)-Until someone else in the 10th shows me something, they look pretty set at the #10 spot......

Parker is an impressive player.... GRC is the class of the 40th, and as always, they are very well coached.....
