The other bracket is pretty strong but I think PC after a fairly long layoff will win out. Hope to see a Mason/PC final.

Wednesday--Jan. 4 6:30--Mason Cty. vs Bracken Cty, 8:00--Montgomery Cty. vs. St. Patrick Thursday--Jan. 5 6:30--Pendleton Cty. vs. Campbell Cty. 8:00--Bishop Brossart vs. Harrison Cty. Friday--Jan. 6 6:30--Upper Bracket Semis 8:00--Lower Bracket Semis Saturday--Jan 7 7:30--Championship Game Look for Mason to cruise to the finals as they always do in this tourney, and as someone mentioned a battle on the other side of the bracket. I'm guessing an early season showdown between Brossart and Pendleton will decide the other berth in the Championship game; with the winner set for a dogfight with an improving Mason squad!! Good JV tourney Saturday AM with Mason taking on Montgomery at 10:00 and Brossart doing battle with Campbell at 11:00, followed by the losers game at 12:15 and the Championship game at 1:15. Not sure why Pendleton's JV's aren't in it this year??

Bird Man Posted January 2, 2006 Posted January 2, 2006 Every year Mason co. is at the very top of the bracket, and it seems like they are paired up with Bracken or St. Pat every year. The bottom of the bracket usually has better games all the way up to the finals. Mason County has won this tournament 5 straight years (2001-2005). I do see them making it to the finals this year, but I don't know if they will win or not. The last team to win this other than Mason Co. was Montgomery Co. in 2000. They had Akeem Scott, C. Mullins and Kyle Nickels. They had a great team. Look for a great game Friday night at 8:00. Whoever plays in this game, I think it will be fun to watch. Good luck to all teams. It should be one of the better MCIT's.

Believe Mason plays anybody anywhere every year with this year being no exception,But this is there tourny if the other teams have a problem dont except the invite theres others that will.

Montgomery Cty. vs. St. Patrick This should be a dandy of a game as the improving Saints should match well against the young Indians.If the Saints can handle the pressure on the ball they could steal a win from the Indians here.Montgomery County will need to send the ball inside and control the boards to get this W.The Indians should win this game but dont be surprised if the Saints dont shock them here and still a Win. Final Montgomery County 59 St. Patrick 54 Pendleton Cty. vs. Campbell Cty. Pendelton will be coming off a 2week+ long layoff and should be well rested and time to prepare.Should be some good battles on the inside for this game but the Wildcats should dominate on the guard position of this game.If Pendelton is hitting the 3 they can beat anybody and will make a long night for the Camels,But if there not this could be a good game .But look for the Wildcats to prevail either way here. Final Pendelton Cty 77 Campbell Cty 63 Bishop Brossart vs. Harrison Cty. This is probally the best of the 1st round games as both teams are playing very good ball at this time.this game might come down to who shoots the outside shots the best and decides to clamp down on the defensive side best.Look for Brossart to win the inside battle so Harrison almost has to win the outside shooting battle to get the Win.Either way someone will get chance at revenge in less than a week as these two hookup 1/10 again. Final Bishop Brossart 62 Harrison Cty 56 Semi Finals Mason Cty vs Montgomery Cty Again the Royals should have a size advantage here in this game also and this will be a matchup of maybe the 2 youngest teams in the region.Look for Darius Miller and Micah Turner to be to much for the Indians in the Fieldhouse in front of what should be a great Friday night Semis Crowd. Final Mason Cty 68 Montgomery Cty57 Pendelton Cty vs Bishop Brossart This might be the best game of the tourny as these two should match up well with Pendelton edging out the Mustangs on the inside here and that should be the differnce of who wins this game is who wins the glass and the inside play.Dont be at all surprised if Bishop Brossart dont beat the Wildcats espically if they can control Elliott and force some turnovers. Final Pendelton 71 Bishop Brossart 67 Finals Mason Cty vs Pendelton Cty This game is a wash on the inside as both teams have a couple of very good post players.Should come down to turnovers and outside shooting,Can Mason Freshman point guard Russ Middelton handle the press the entire game and can Mason limit Pendeltons 3 point shooting.Which ever team does this will win the game Ill go with a Royal upset here but wouldnt be at all surprised if Pendelton dont show why there the class of the 10th right now and win either.Will the Mason team that played South Laurel to the wire show up or the one that lost to Pulaski Southwestrern.If it gets in the high 70s or above favors Pendelton if it stays 70 or below favors Mason. Final Mason Cty 69 Pendelton Cty 68 Should be a very fun 4 nights of basketball,Weather is great for January so everyone come to the Fieldhouse and catch some great basketball kinda like an early regional flavor.Hope your favorite team wins.

Brossart seems to be putting up more points this year than in recent years though and PC will run whenever possible.And yes if the 1st round plays out like it should Friday Night should be a very large crowd.
