letabrotherspeak Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 Sounds like the same as yesterday...solid scoring from Hill, Rice and Henderson, with a good floor game by Jefferson. Lou. Trinity next on the Bulldogs docket, tomorrow.
kyhoops#23 Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 Should be an interesting matchup against Trinity.
bcfan24 Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 Holmes is the most athletic in state team I have saw in quite a while......
NKYBOY1487 Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 From a Previous Thread Actually this may come as a surprise to many BGP'ers but I went and watched Holmes tonight. I was very impressed with some of the players. I hadn't seen Arnez this season and I would agree his stock is rising and rising fast. He might be a top 5 player by the end of the season, he's very mature, very quick and jumps like no one else in the 9th. Greg Rice is back to form and I have always said he has the most upside of any Holmes player. He doesn't miss a shot if its inside the 3pt line and he takes the ball to the whole very well and very strong. After tonight, he's my #1 in the region again. Consistancy and behavior is going to be his key. Duran Jefferson, same as usual. He finds the open man better than anyone and just directs the Bulldogs as a captain should do. Looked great as usual. Austin Hill is hurting. Literally. Tonight you could really see he was in pain. Is this a consistant problem? Most impressive was he played through it. He gave 110% and earned my utmost respect. He was hurt and you could tell, but he was diving for balls and hustling more than anyone on the floor. He might be one of my favorite players to watch after tonight. Good game Austin. Yes that was a CovCath fan and St. Henry Boy giving props to the Dogs from Holmes. They look really tough and I don't know who will beat them in the 5/3.
NKYBOY1487 Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 I saw a BGP shirt at 5/3 tonight? Anyone want to give away the identity? JK Good to see the BGP down at the 5/3 tonight.

letabrotherspeak Posted December 28, 2005 Author Posted December 28, 2005 BTW, it is Arrez Henderson, not Arnez. BJ Avery still hasn't made it back. Has a knee issue, I believe there was to be an MRI taken today.

The Scribe Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 For some reason, the basketball had a special glow for Greg Rice
Patveep Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 Three of us attended the game together and were were very impressed with the way Holmes played. they shoot better than most Holmes teams have over the year and they played extremely hard. They do a great job of finishing inside and they ran the floor under control. Hill, henderson and Rice were great. I have seen Jefferson play better. He has developed a habit of picking up his dribble too soon and throwing long, high passes over the zone. Several were intercepted. Once he got into the half court game, he did a fine job of getting the ball inside. Edmonson would play about 5 seconds, if I were coaching. It is one thing to have a bad game and another to mope around and sit on the bench during TO's when the other players are huddling around the coach. At one point, one of the coaches saw him sitting there and said "you had better get up here if you want to play" and he did. But he sat down again on the very next time out. Henderson was not a bad team at all, and that made the win all the better.
Jim Schue Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 I saw a BGP shirt at 5/3 tonight? Anyone want to give away the identity? JK Good to see the BGP down at the 5/3 tonight. I know of at least one person who had a BGP shirt on at the 5/3 on Monday. :sssh:

cshs81 Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 Their old gym at LexCath is quite smallish. Are they playing in an old gym and a new gym?
