I have heard that Sycamore has a stud RB (perhaps one of the most highly recruited RB's in the country?) but that's about all I know.

These are state tournament "what ifs". If you want to start a 9th region "what ifs", have at it.

As I recall, the ball was inounded with 50.0 and when WC called timeout the clock showed 39.8. Tough no call but you can easily see how it happens. The turnover you alluded to is another one of those "what if" moments I alluded to.

As a Covington Catholic fan, there are a lot of “what ifs” for the state tournament: 1967: What If CCH could have gotten the rebound from the missed shot in the 1967 State Championship game against Earlington? For those of you that aren’t familiar with the play, check out this link (and old school video): 2004: What if the officials would have called a 10 second backcourt violation against Warren Central in the state semifinals? As I recall, Warren Central took the ball out of bounds with 50 seconds to go (coming out of a timeout). CCH is pressing. Warren Central, still with the ball in the backcourt, calls timeout and clearly 10+ seconds had elapsed from the game clock. What if the officials would have called a 10-second violation & given the ball back to CCH? (There are a couple other “what ifs” in that game, too). 2006: What if Coach Mike Listerman does NOT call a timeout in the 1st round against Apollo seconds before Kurt Bovard drills a long 3? CCH came out of the timeout, failed to score & never recovered.

Hopefully he'll find a school where he's comfortable wherever he ends up.

Speaking of athletic wings, the 2002 team had Brian Lewin who was an athletic 6'6'' wing. Lew didn't have Bo's athleticism, but Lew was an outstanding HS player. The '04 team had plenty of athletic size to matchup with Bo. I think the '04 team's size would've created a lot of matchup problems for the 2014 champs. Again, we're splitting hairs here and the 2014 has the state championship ring -- which is tough to argue with. All 3 teams (as well as the '06 regional championship team) had exciting seasons but fell short...except one.

I'm sure others will disagree, but I would probably take both the 2002 & 2004 Cov Cath teams over the 2014 state championship team. Of course, the '14 team has one thing that neither of the other two have, which is all that matters.

If Lex Cath would've gotten out of the region, they would've had their hands full with Scott County in the 1st game.

I disagree -- Mason had an emotional game in the Final 4 vs. Trinity -- didn't it go to 2OT? They were out of gas.

If Jake works hard at developing his body (and his foot speed), he could return to football in a couple years if that's what he wants to do.

Nice catch, as Rob was not on the Baseball-reference link I provided. Rob made it to AAA in 2007 and started only 1 game. He went 3 2/3 innings and gave up 6 hits, 5 runs and walked 4. Rob Harmon Minor League Statistics & History | Baseball-Reference.com

I've never heard of John Frilling, but he must've been a big-time player. Drafted in the 16th round out of CCH, then selected in the 7th round a year later out of college.

Here is a list of Covington Catholic graduates that got drafted. To my knowledge, none of these players ever made it to the major leagues.
