  1. Why is not fair? The Diocese didn't stop CCH from putting in turf before NC or Holy Cross.
  2. We'll just disagree. IMO he'd thrive more in Holmes style with his ability to find holes and his passing ability.
  3. The way Ramel has been shooting from the line lately, there is absolutely no guarantee he makes two.
  4. They didn't get cheated. They sucked offensively and can't make FTs.
  5. You find me a place in the rulebook that says fouls that are normally fouls are not fouls if the player was trying to draw the foul and I'll say "you're right." "Bail outs" happen all the time. There is no provision in the rulebook regarding "bail outs." Just like there are judges that rule by the word of the book, I say a rule is a rule no matter if its 2 seconds into the game or 2 seconds left in the game regardless if it helps my team or hurts my team.
  6. Look, I know there are a lot of people on here that think Perry Stevenson can play. He can't. He rebounds well. He's athletic. He shoots FTs well. That's it. His concept of defense is to let his man catch the ball wherever he wants and then try to block it. Doesn't work. Today's game should prove that he can only score if UK's guards set him up with an uncontested dunk. UK's guards struggled today with getting to the rim. It forced UK into jumpers and UGA didn't have to worry about helping inside because there was no threat of scoring inside. In games like this and the upcoming tourney, you need to be able to get some points out of the post. UK cannot. Yes, I know he's had good stats but you have to watch and see how those points are garnered. He hurts the offense.
  7. What do you mean "no advantage?" The purpose of a pick is to free the man with the ball to shoot/pass/dribble more freely. I don't buy the "you don't call it late in the game" crap. Rules are rules. I'd ask an official to give me the rule that says it wasn't a foul or that the rules change with less than a minute.
  8. We often hear that schools like Highlands could "compete" (whatever that means) with T and X. HHS has about 450 boys.
  9. Correct. Since the guy was not drafted out of college, no picks are given up.
  10. Boone has 2 of the top offensive players in NKY. Can they get any pitching?
  11. 7th , 8th, and 9th at RH (I believe). 10th and 11th at NCH. 12th at Huntington High.
  12. What you're really saying is that they have "more" male students. These other 6A schools do have a lot of boys, right? Does the Louisville school district allow kids to attend from out of county or out of state?
  13. OG - I have no problem with this. If Shawn wanted to donate enough for the ENTIRE cost, Boone would have their field. We should not penalize Ryle nor should we expect the BOE to pay for Boone's field just because an alum wants to pay "part" of the bill.
  14. Unfortunately for the Colonels, the season is over. Let me comment on two of the seniors. If you had someone from another state say "take me to see a player who exemplifies NKY high school basketball," you'd take him to see Michael Grimes. He does absolutely nothing in a spectacular fashion. His shot is OK. His ballhandling is OK. His speed is OK. Solid athlete. Decent size. He's the face of NKY basketball because once the game starts the above are irrelevant because he simply knows how to play the game on both ends and do whatever is needed on a given night. His b-ball IQ is off the charts. His D is top-notch. His passing is grossly underrated and he knows how to get the ball. He's a D3 player at best but he's a player that would start on every team in NKY despite his lack of individual skills and he makes every team a winner. Secondly, hats off to JD Schmerge. JD was a one-trick pony as a frosh and a sophomore. Of course, that one trick was knocking down 3s so that's not too bad. However, about halfway through his JR year, he started getting much more aggressive on both ends of the floor. He, too, made CCH better when he was in the game with not only his ability to knock down a 3 with one of the best strokes in NKY but also with his defense and rebounding. He, too, will be sorely missed. Nice job, boys.
  15. It happened a few years ago in a conference tourney in the northeast. Some sort of airborne illness caused the tourney directors to keep fans out of the gym.
  16. While Wireman didn't enjoy it, I did chuckle.
  17. Here's the video of his shot that won the state championship a few years ago:
  18. One big difference in this situation and the Sweet 16.
  19. I stand corrected. We now know TWO people that will not be coaching IU next season.
  20. I assume that when you get a job as a teacher (if you don't already have one), economics and/or logistics is not going to be the class you teach.
