Weight room work has nothing to do with keeping Holmes off the boards. Unfortunately, CCH can get into bad habits against almost every other team and simply turn and go get the ball. You can't do that against Holmes. If I were Coach L, the main thing I'd be practicing would be teaching the players to first find their man and then GO TO their man, put the rear end on their man, and then go get the ball. I saw hardly any true blockouts last night and CCH paid for it. If you don't block out properly against Holmes, you lose because they score the majority of their points on offensive rebounds.

Too bad the 9th region doesn't implement a new rule stating that if your team does not score on the first shot of its possession, they have to give the ball to the other team. Holmes might then have a sub-.500 record. Those guys are so good at going to get the ball on the offensive glass .

I thought CCH did a great job of penetrating but unlike against other teams, you've got some boys waiting to swat your shots. I bet Holmes had 8 to 10 blocked shots.

I saw that and commented on that as well. If you want to know why some public schools have a problem with CCH, it could very well have to with the disappointing age-old cheer "we're going to college." Boys, I'm sure that humility is part of the Catholic teachings.

What is an average head coaching salary? Someone mentioned $20k earlier and I would assume that's very high.

I took that to mean that there were 15 players in JC's district that were playing elsewhere and now that he gets a few from outside the district, everyone is concerned or suddenly interested.
