  1. Average, schmaverage. What's your point?
  2. WK said something interesting (and disturbing) tonight. He said that whoever plays CF will be the leadoff hitter. Why? Why not someone like Votto?
  3. Harry, I don't post this as a shot against you as I do not know you. Why do we only hear people using the "lets give the kid a 2nd chance despite his drug charges" when its a stud athlete? If this were some thug on the corner, no one on this site would be lenient.
  4. According to realtimerpi.com, the SEC is the #4 conference this year in RPI. While it doesn't tell the whole story, it does say that the conference, where 16 of their total games are played, is not bad.
  5. I'd guess it helps UK's SOS and RPI a bit. However, the SOS was already pretty high.
  6. The highlight of my night was seeing Wild Bill being interviewed. The guy hasnt aged in 30 years.
  7. If I'm Sean Miller, I probably pull him aside and "counsel" him and he then says something like "the others are great players in their own right but...."
  8. Thanks. I think Randy once scored over 40 in a game his senior year. The acorn doesn't fall far from the tree.
  9. I have no clue how many points Katie Tierney had tonight but I think she'll be a great addition to the TMC team. She does a lot of things well especially passing and defense. I can't believe no one has changed her FT shooting but other than that, she's a player. Molly Johnson would also be a strong D3 role player as well.
  10. Good call, Joe. Conner killed NDA with penetration and interior passing. I think Conner proved tonight that its not about how fast you run or how high you jump or how quick you are in the tryouts. Rather, its about being a basketball player and being intelligent. Overall, I thought NDA had better "athletes." However, Conner played basketball, played to their roles, and played as a team. Good question.
  11. Boy, brain cramp on my part. Yes, I meant Hodges. Very solid player. I'm guessing Randy Hodges is her dad or uncle and he was a strong inside player back in the late 70s.
  12. No different than if they gave him a scholarship.
  13. Congrats to the Lady Cougars. If my memory is correct, the last time the Lady Cougars made the trip to E.A. Diddle was when their current coach was their star. Tale of two halves for Allison Long. I thought she really struggled at the point in the first half after #4 went out. Then in the 2nd half, she completely took over and joined the 1000 point club. Congrats to her on an outstanding achievement. Overall, CSHS (I'm old school) had many more offensive weapons than NDA. I thought NDA had one scorer you had to shut down and then the rest you took your chance with. They have a bunch of strong athletes but not a lot of scorers. Hats off to them for playing 84 feet for 32 minutes. It didnt take long for me to figure out which Cougar was Jeff Kremer's daughter when I saw one of them sporting #53. Is it true that she's going to NKU? Lastly, how many times in one broadcast can you call Tierney Johnson and Johnson Tierney?
  14. Its a shame that HHS baseball can't get on the football field after the gridiron gang's spring practices are over. Instead they get to watch some 10 year olds play soccer while they're stuck in their dank dark 1922 gymnasium.
  15. I agree. Its fine to back your boys but you don't call out other players.
  16. I thought NDA was guard-dominated and liked to press and run???
  17. It would be nice as long as you don't need any speed to get around the corner. No way you can have both on your roster.
  18. So who does he deserve a scholarship from?
  19. Ol' Elliott doesn't mess around with your run-of-the-mill prostitutes. These true professionals earn as much as $5500 per hour.
  20. "Second chance" is such a nebulous phrase. What exactly would you say is an acceptable 2nd chance? Does it involve the right to go to school for free? Or does it simply mean he gets a "second chance" by avoiding spending time with other lonely men in prison? I MIGHT be OK with the latter. No way in heck am I OK with the former regardless of his talent level.
  21. Looks like NY will have a new governor. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/03/10/nyregion/10cnd-spitzer.html?_r=1&hp&oref=slogin
  22. "Back in the day" it was. You could go to a bar/club in Cincinnati, show your fake ID, and get stamped "under" which meant you could only buy the watered-down 3.2 beer. I'd guess that ended in the very early 80s.
  23. I hope for his sake that he gets a chance to move on from this (but no more than any other kid in his situation). I just don't want that 2nd chance to include a D1 athletic scholarship. What's ultimately agreed to is nothing more than negotiations. It doesn't change the act itself.
  24. The Bengals should not be on that list. Great young man. He wouldn't help the Bengals. He'd be no more than another Rudi IMO.
