Wow, is all I can say with first round matchup of Cov. Cath and Highlands!

Could Holmes have gotten a better scenario?

Coach Henley must have went to church and prayed before heading to Conner for the draw!:lol:

Winners: St. Henry and Holmes

 

Losers: Dixie/Conner, Highlands/Cov. Cath.

The word from Hebron was that Coach Listerman was not a happy camper this morning.

Could Holmes have gotten a better scenario?

 

I for one am glad that CovCath gets HHS in the first round, and I am sure HHS is too. Why? Because whoever wins that game (of course I am rooting for CovCath) will have a couple days of rest, prior to having to play their next game.

 

My guess is that the Holmes starters are seating on the bench by the end of the 1st quarter, as I truly believe that the Holmes JV team (remember they had only one loss this season, and that of course was to CovCath) could beat Bellevue man on man.

 

This is a prime example of why it is totally bogus (and I would be saying this even is CovCath were playing Bellevue) for some to seed and other to draw out of the hat.

 

BTW how is McGraw's back? I have heard that Willie has been totally over protecting him, and while it really does bother/hurt him from time to time, it isn't as bad as Willie is making it out to be. Will he, if they get past CovCath and or Holmes, be able to play the games that the sweet sixteen schedule requires, if they make it to Rupp?

How do they do this 'Draw'? Secret Ballots or Blind Draw? I was just wondering.:confused:

 

I know all about the winners and losers and not meeting someone from your own distict until the finals. I just mean the draw itself.

Blind draw ...BUT , Once the team from your district is picked you go to other side of bracket .2 Teams from same district can not meet before the regional finals . I am pretty sure . Winners of the districts play the losing team in the first round also .

Region draw pretty much broke down like a seed deal other than HHS/CCH in first round.

Only if Highlands and Cov. Cath would of met in semi's then the winner would of had to play Holmes the next day after what will be a very physical and mental drain on both teams.

The word out of Hebron might have been, but the words out of the mouth that I heard, were that Coach L thinks that CovCath got the best possible draw that they could have hoped for, to get to Rupp! Remember, I gave you the reason why!

Who do you all like in the Dixie/Conner matchup since the games will be at Conner?

My predictions

 

Highlands eeks out a victory over Cov CAth. Meets St. Henry in Semis and rolls. They face Holmes in the final game. Holmes wollops Bellevue and gets by Conner who defeats Dixie.

 

Highlands knew they were going to have to play the Colonels and Dogs to get out so I like this scenario best. Get it over with and take a couple days rest heading into Semis.
