Region draw pretty much broke down like a seed deal other than HHS/CCH in first round.

 

2/3 in the 1st round is a pretty far departure from a seed, plus Villa would have fallen to the 7th which would have put then in the 2/3 bracket. Nothing like a seeded bracket.

How lucky is that, Holmes get that kind of draw!

Highlands did get their best scenario in that McGraw gets a full week of rest before Cov. Cath then gets four days rest before semi's if they advance to semi's. They should be able then to get to finals without extending him in the semi's.

The word out of Hebron might have been, but the words out of the mouth that I heard, were that Coach L thinks that CovCath got the best possible draw that they could have hoped for, to get to Rupp! Remember, I gave you the reason why!

It's bogus that some district seed and some draw (sorry I didn't paint a better picture for you). Who do you think Holmes would have been playing, if (not a big if too) the 36th had seeded? Why NCC, who BTW is the only Ninth Region team to beat Holmes this season. While I think Holmes would have beaten NCC this time, Holmes wouldn't be sitting their starters after the first quarter in that game. That is why I think the KHSAA needs to have all district seed, since only 12 don't seed now!

 

BTW, you did notice, that I said I would feel the same way if, CovCath had won the 35th District and were playing Bellevue.

I have no doubt what you heard was true. I assume it was from the CovCath internet broadcast. Did you expect him to get on there and complain?

 

I understand your arguement for meeting in the first round, but another scenario is that whoever wins that game comes out flat after such an emotional win versus a semifinal matchup where you are still riding the high of the big game the night before.

 

You can spin it anyway you want, but coaches want to face the toughest competition as late in a tournament as they can.

Who do you all like in the Dixie/Conner matchup since the games will be at Conner?

 

 

Conner at Conner is tough. I would hate to have to play Conner on their court. CovCath has been there and done that, and it wasn't pretty at all. Dixie, and Holmes, be careful what you wish for!

 

Thankfully the day's of home court advantage are gone after this year for the Ninth Region! Thank you, Bank of Kentucky!

 

BTW congrats to Villa for getting into the 9th Region for the first time, enjoy! Bellevue, see you again, when you luck out in the draw!

All four drew probably the way the seeding of the top four would go...other than the matchup.
