I agree that how much they win by is irrelevant but it is important for them to stay sharp in anticipation of a tough semi-final matchup on Tuesday.

 

It will have been 9 days between the district finals and the region semi-final game. You don't want your team coming out flat for a tough semi-final game.

The first round games are listed as starting at 6 and 7:45. That's not enough time in between to clear the gym.

It would be the first time EVER that they cleared the gym in the first round.

I don't think they'll clear the gym after the first round games. Not enough time to.

The gym will be cleared between the semi-final games on Monday. 1st game is at 6pm and the 2nd at 8:30.

Personally I feel worse for the Holmes players. If they beat Bellevue by 30 or more, their thugs, and showed no sportsmanship. If they score 100 points or more, the cry will be, they have no class. Holmes if they only win by 20 or so, and Bellevue will cry, see we belong, but most fans will know that Holmes was just being kind. See I feel worse for the Holmes kids because they are being put into a spot that they shouldn't have to be in, and for them, this game will be no fun at all!

 

So maybe Bellevue should just forfeit and save all the Holmes players the tough times they will endure. :irked: I dont think so, play the game and let Henley handle the how it plays out by subbing. They have to come out and play their game and if its 100-40 at the buzzer so be it.

There's no way that will prevent them from being flat. How much do you really anticipate they will be able to work on that will keep them sharp? Practice over the weekend will be 100 times more important in their preparation by playing Bellevue. Craziest thing I've ever heard.

Work on your shooting in practice as the Tigers will most likely go Zone. However, I still think the Dogs penetrate and dunk at will. I would expect there to be several Vid cams going that night.

Get the film from Willie. Stop their strengths, exploit their weaknesses. When it's time to pull the starters, pull them. Can you imagine keeping the starters in the game longer than they should be and then getting hurt? There's not a hole deep enough for Coach Henley to hide in.

 

As for sharp, my guess is that Holmes bench could beat Bellevue. Practicing against them will be better for them than that game.

I would take advantage of using this game to work on weaknesses. Try some new/different out of bounds sets. Work on running disciplined offensive sets...things that you may need in the tougher games to come. BGP-ers...don't be so negative on the B-town boys. They played by the rules and won their way into the region. So be it! Play hard and let the chips fall where they may...and oh, by the way, CONGRATULATIONS! You deserve to be there!
