Good luck to you guys too. I look for a CCH-Holmes rematch in the finals with Holmes winning once again, as they have already proved this year they can beat CCH with or without Bondick in the lineup..

Really I don't think this year's teams matter. None of the players for either Holmes or CCH were HUGE contributors for last year's squads outside of Henderson for Holmes and even he wasn't a huge scoring threat.

 

Over the past 2 years CCH record against Holmes away from CCH is 1-3, with the one win coming on a last second shot on a neutral court, so couldn't the same be said about CCH not being able to beat Holmes away from CCH?

 

No matter where these young men play it's going to be a war but the better team will prevail. :thumb:

I think anyone from a small school would agree that it doesnt matter how you get there its getting there with the possibility of playing the Cinderella team. Nobody from Bellevue is going to apologize to all the bigger schools because they are not stuck in a district where they have to earn it. It goes without saying that seeding their district would not allow them to go and it would put NCC and Highlands there every year but lets just let it go without the "taking your sister to the prom" comparisons.

And let's not forget Holy Cross is in the 35th District as well. Tough as the 35th District is, I would hate to lose the in-District rivalry among Holmes-Holy Cross, Holy Cross - Cov. Cath., Cov. Cath. - Holmes. Wouldn't have it any other way.

Agree. I think if Holy Cross were in any other district in nky (33rd, 34th, 36th), we'd see them as a regular in the region tournament every year. If anything they suffer the most having to play against two of the top 20 teams in the state every year just to make it out of districts.

 

These past few years haven't been too kind to them with the talent Holmes and CCH as had and it won't get any easier the next few years.

Either way I don't think last year has anything to do with this year.

 

This year's Holmes team is completely different with differet players as is CCH. Holmes is 2-0 against CCH this year. First game the CCH excuse was Bondick wasn't in the lineup. Next CCH loss, WITH Bondick in the lineup, it was Holmes had home court advantage.

 

I guess we'll just have to wait until Wednesday to find out TOG. I'm thinking we should probably sit by eachother for the rematch. :thumb:

BTW it was weird going back and reading all of those posts from last year's region championship and everyone being so dead on about this year with Maile and Henderson. After reading the thread from last year, it kind of makes me feel like Maile has been sort of underrated this year.

Beechwood had a decent team this year too in the 35th, all four teams were tough. This was by far the toughest district from top to bottom this season. Beechwood will never benefit from a "good draw" in this district!
