Beechwood had a decent team this year too in the 35th, all four teams were tough. This was by far the toughest district from top to bottom this season. Beechwood will never benefit from a "good draw" in this district!

 

Agree. You have one team (Beechwood) go undefeated in DIII conference, then Holy Cross with one of the top players in the region, and you have CCH and Holmes who are top 15 and top 5 in the state. Top to bottom this is the best the 35th has been in a while.

I think that the 35th in the 04/05 season was better than this year. Ludlow had an outstanding year and Holy Cross was better than this year's Holy Cross squad.

Why not foster a bit of NCAA March Madness Round 1 magic into the KHSAA 9th Region tourney? So what if the system facilitates a Cinderella team or two making the dance. Bellevue wasn't much of a match for the Dawgs but the same could be same for most every other team in the 9th Region this year. Villa came an angstrom from upsetting St. Henry. Thus far, no team in the 9th Region tourney has played with more grit, heart and hustle than Villa. Every time the ball hit the court in their game against the Cru at least one and usually two Black jerseys came diving into the fray. A peek into the future. Cov. Cath. has so many talented kids scrapping for a few available spots on their roster, I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see Villa pick up a transfer or two in the years to come based upon this year's effort. Congratulations to Bellevue, Villa, Milan, Valpo, the N.Y. Giants, David and all other underdogs who just couldn't get it through their heads that they weren't supposed to be there.

Just curious, but why you didn't quote my entire post? You know, the part where I said "Did Bellevue follow the rules? Sure they did! Did they do what was best for Bellevue? Sure they did.....

 

30 years from now when the Bellevue guys talk about playing in the regional tournament, no one is going to say... "Well who did you beat to get there?"
