  1. Last year my son and daughter in law went on a cruise. She had her passport and he didn't. He took his birth certificate and photo ID as that was all he was told he needed. It was very difficult for him to be cleared to get on the ship and they almost didn't let him. Getting ready to book a cruise for this summer and we are all getting ours. Well worth not not taking the risk.
  2. Not been on the site in a very long time but have to make time to hop on for the annual New Year's bash. How have you been, BF?
  3. Double RATS......tried to do the June 4th and that is the day of her high school graduation.
  4. RATS...the April date is already full. Moving on to June 4th.
  5. I think we are planning to go down on that Friday to spend some time on campus and in town then we won't be rushed to make the 5 hours drive on Saturday morning.
  6. The first one is set for April 17th. Thanks for the advice, gonna sign her up tomorrow.
  7. Looks like she is really leaning towards Murray. Thanks for all the information, it really helped answer many of her questions. I understand the scholarship committe is meeting this week....prayers are needed for some offers to come her way. After that we will be planning a road trip to see the campus.
  8. Forgot to ask, what is the Summer O that Rocket mentioned?
  9. I didn't realize Murray was that close to the lakes. My husband will love to go fishing. She really perked up on the idea of the trolley. Is the area between the campus and, for instance, the phamacies bike friendly?
  10. Thanks for the comments so far. The scholarship committee meets this weeks so saying lots of prayers for some tuition help to come our way. If our prayers are answered we will be making the road trip down in a few weeks. Any pointers on a place to stay or any sites to take in while we are there?
  11. Now that you brought the topic up...please be honest on the partying. She is not one for this and would prefer to steer clear.
  12. What is around the area, outside of campus? Movies, stores, pharmacies, etc? theoldguy: is your child a current high school senior? It you care to share, girl or boy?
  13. Some general questions that she has and she is looking at a degree in Psychology (just not sure what area yet...maybe Cognitive Therapy): --Being 5 hours from home, what is there to do during down time (like she is going to have any downtime:D) --For someone who is not as outgoing as most, it is a friendly campus? --Is the campus safe? Can you walk from building to building or do alot of students have bikes? --Are the dorms nice and explain the dorm set-up? Seperate communities??? These are comfort questions but some that are weighing on the top of her brain right now.
  14. Nobody yet? No one has anything to say about Murray?
  15. Anyone from the Northern KY area been to or currently attending Murray? My daughter is looking at this school and I would love to find a contact from the N. Ky area that she can converse with to get some personal insight. Feel free to PM me if interested.
  16. Any neither did the losing team of the girls game but no one is harping on that. The girls didn't even hold thier trophy up and left the floor immediately after. Just stop picking already and lets focus on Newport and their bid for bringing the state title back to Northern Kentucky.
  17. That's exactly my point! This team, over the last 3 years, has worked hard to bring some respect to the school and the community. They have put the 9th Region on the map and played with a target on their back all season. Newport hit that target and came out on top. I am certainly not condoning the action that was displayed. The actions of a few does certainly reflect on the whole team and the school, which is a complete shame. I am quite certain those few players will get an ear full, as well they should.
  18. Will there be any final attendance numbers released?
  19. I walked out with one of the parents who did put at least one of them back in check. I don't dispute that there was some display that should not have happened. I hate to see the whole team and the program become labeled because of the action of a few.
  20. It is disheartening to see the comments about the Holmes team in general. I don't feel we can label the team as having a total lack of class and poor sportsmanship due the the acts of 1 or 2. I did see them leave for the locker room but other than maybe those 1 or 2 I would like to think it was not meant in poor sportsmanship but a very upsetting and confusing moment for many of those young men. Please don't take one moment in time and label a team that has overcome adversity and accomplished what they have in the last 3 years. Coach Henley has done some amazing things with this group of players, this just was not the night for them. Newport was clearly the better team on the floor and for that they should be congratulated!! They will represent the 9th region and as other teams supported Holmes we will support Newport in their quest.
  21. Very well said. This team has had an awesome run. I have enjoyed watching these young men for the last 4 years and look forward to many more. Keep your heads held high, you have made some big accomplishments and have a long future ahead of you. Once A Bulldog....Always A Bulldog!!!
  22. That's the choir and drama teacher. The students putting on the Seussical, The Musical here very shortly. Leave it to him to support the students in anyway he can.
