  1. There are some scheduled time. Buzz and the Cars are usually Hollywood Studios. Is your dinner with the princesses the one at Cinderella's Castle. For the Cinderella Dinner, she will get to meet Cinderella as you enter the Castle and you get a picture with her. At dinner there is a show that includes the Fairy Godmother and the mice. I would recommend getting a borchure for each of the parks upon your arrival. They include a detailed schedule that does change from week to week. Many of the characters you just catch in the parks throughout the day unless you do other character dining.
  2. The crowds were not too bad, but we also had a plan of attack. Be there when the park opens. Know ahead of time what you want to ride. If any of them have the Fast Pass, go get it first thing and then go to your next choice. The neat thing is that on most of the rides, they tell you how long the wait generally is. I find them to go quicker than stated on the signs. Also, most lines are very interactive with lots of things to see and animated characters talking, etc. This really makes the line wait time go by quick. The lines also tend to be shorter during the noon and 5pm hours when most are eating lunch and dinner. We always try to eat a little earlier or later. They also offer a buddy type of pass where the parents can trade off in order for both parents to ride with the kids. Ask the attendants about that, it's pretty cool.
  3. Just got back from there and the heat was brutal. Go to Wal Mart and invest in the spray bottle with the fans. They are expensive at the park but really helped keep us cool. At MK, there are lots of rides for the little ones that us big folk can also enjoy. I agree, not alot at Epcot for the kids. The show at Hollywood Studios is one of the best to catch. You MUST BE IN LINE early, early, early. The stadium holds alot of people but it is filled to capacity each show. Check the schedules because they do not do this one every night. It will certainly be worth your time to see. Check out the meals before you buy. I agree they can be on the expensive side but if you check out the portions, such as the roasted chicken in the cafeteria in Tomorrowland, 2 people can easily share a meal. The park hopper is a must, especially when it rains. You have to have the additional passes to the water park....not just the park hopper. That part of the ticket is called the Fun & More. This also gets you into Disney Quest located in Downtown Disney. The kids will love this...gets them out of the heat and/or the rain. Have a great trip. I can't wait to go back.
  4. I agree. I truly have no problem with the applause, if kept under control. For me it is the hollering, screaming and air horns and the disregard for others around them as they either carrying on a conversation during the rest of the ceremony or begin to gather up belongings and leave the stadium before the ceremony is over. Those acts are just plain rude.
  5. I completely agree. I have been to many graduations where this has happened. When my son graduated, I could barely see him for the people that were standing and trying to leave once their child's name was called. (and those darn air horns are the worse) Simply, lack of respect for those around you.
  6. Oriental Wok in either Taylor Mill or Crescent Springs and Cathay's Kitchen in Florence are the 2 best, IMO, that offer the sit-down atmosphere.
  7. Perfect!! Thank you so much, this was a tremendous help. Just placed the order for 2.
  8. I am in desperate need of the 2009 Program from the State Championship. This is needed to be included in a memory shadow box for the Bulldogs that will hang in the fieldhouse. If you have one that you don't plan to keep or would be willing to pass it along for this frame, please pm me. I will be more than happy to reimburse you the cost plus pay any costs to mail it to me. THANKS!!
  9. The letter that was sent out by the superintendent stating that "state regulations do not allow for school districts to use district funds to finance a reception or purchase any type of commemorative awards". Checks should be made payable to the "Tom Ellis Foundation" and sent to the attention of Sherry Boone at the Covington Independent Schools, 25 E. 7th Street, Covington, Kentucky 41011
  10. Very nice pep rally today at school. The bleachers were packed and lots of news coverage. Here are some beginning details of upcoming events. A parade will leave Holmes campus this Saturday at 1:30. It will travel down Madison Ave and will stop at The Madison where a reception will be held. I don't know if this is a "decorate your car" type of caravan parade or just the players. Once I find out I will pass it along.
  11. I heard today that the book store may be able to get some. The school will have their own design, not sure what it looks like and those are suppose to be in on Tuesday. If I find out other info I will pass it along.
  12. I believe it is an open invite for tomorrow. I am going to try and make it and I heard alot of other adults in the welcoming crowd trying to re-arrange work schedules. We all plan to come down with a little bit of "bulldog" flu.:sssh: There was also an announcement that a big reception is going to be planned. The date and details are suppose to be released to the public. Several news channels there. Talked with the guy from Ch 19. He says he plans to have a special segment tonight at 10:30. (Dawg81...it was nice to meet you....one alumni to another)
  13. I love these photos. THANKS for sharing. You have done an AWESOME job over the season providing us with some breath taking and heart stopping memories. I know we all GREATLY APPRECIATE it !!!!!!!
  14. The Bulldogs and the long awaited hardware will be leaving Lexington at 10am. They will be taking the 12th Street exit and will have a police escort through the city and should arrive on campus by 11:30. This Bulldog is sending an invite to any 9th Region fan to come out and help us welcome them home. WAY TO GO BULLDOGS !:dancingpa
  15. Just got in from the game with the kids, its 3am and we are all still too wired to sleep. The Bulldogs have defended all that has been posted about them. Each team played a terrific, heart stopping game but the Bulldogs did what they have been doing best, winning games. From a Holmes Alumni who has been to almost every game this season, this was one game that I will never forget. Thanks to all the other 9th Region fans who cheered for us to bring it home! If anyone knows what time the bus pulls into campus (Sunday) please post so we can be there to welcome them home.
  16. Since this is a ticket thread, I did find out last night that when you go to purchase tickets for the next game, there is a limit of 4. I needed a total of 9 for the group that we are with. With the limit and the need for several people to get tickets for the same group, we are now spread out 4-6 rows apart with one person stuck sitting by themselves. We are hoping we can swap some seats once we get there. We would swap the lower seats and sit higher if we can sit together. Has anyone else had this problem? Any solutions?
  17. There is suppose to be but the ticket window, at least for the Holmes fans, can't seem to get us in the right cheer section. We have had to move for both games because they put us at the opposite end of where our team and cheerleaders were. This has not been a problem thus far as there has been plenty of seats and we could easily pick up and move. Tuesday night might create a problem for those fans that want to cheer together.
  18. I too don't want to dis a student section and thanks for the kudos for the Holmes section, but.....the cheer section is mostly parents and teachers that sadly outnumber the students (we do try and bring some spirit to the gym). Let's hope more students can and will show up on Tuesday to cheer the Bulldog's on. If you are a Bulldog fan, young or old, we need you in the Dawg Pound this Tuesday. Come join us!!!
  19. That's because I think when we say we want tickets for the "Holmes" section, they think we mean "home" team. :idunno: They had the cheer section again on the opposite side of where we should have been. Like the other night we packed up and moved to the other end.
  20. I attended the 8pm last night and have been to several other events at the BOK. It is a great facility and it is wonderful that the players have been given this opportunity. I was dissapointed in some of the planning. I bring several students and also sit with a number of adults, generally in the cheer section (since our cheer section is generally lacking). Our tickets were in the general seating section with the Ryle cheer section and both bands. That was not so much of an issue as there weren't many students. However, when our cheerleaders came in they were made to go to the far other end of the court:idunno: which did not make sense. With 3 minutes left before the start of the game, we packed up and headed to the other end to be with the cheerleaders (which then left our band at the other end):irked:. Seemed like some poor planning with this detail. I also was under the impression that we could purchase tickets for the next round of games right after our game. With money in hand, we quickly discovered that the tickets windows were locked up tight. Other folks had the same impression. Guess we will have to head over earlier than planned on Sunday and hope for no lines.
  21. One of our adults from our group of supporters went today to get tickets for both the adults and a number of students. For every game we sit together to cheer the Bulldogs on, usually with the other adults and what few students cheer. The person selling the tickets at BOK informed us that adults could not purchase tickets in the cheering section. :irked:
  22. DAWG81---I Love these pics. AWESOME!!!:ylsuper::ylsuper::ylsuper:
  23. I got confirmation a bit earlier from our Athletic Office. The schools will NOT have tickets to sell. The BOK can let you know which section is the assigned section for your school. We plan to get our tickets tomorrow after the kids get out of school. GO DOGS!!!
