The clue was when he struggled reading the BS line-up for the evening... there was a 10 second gap and then he adds the BS coach. Some of us made it over to LNs for the Woodford post game and I think one may have made a pre-game stop! :thumb:

HHS girls lost... :cry: Great Season ladies!

JC ran the ball 42 times out of 44 offensive plays last week. The two times they decided to put the 'skin into the air it was dropped onto the carpet. I don't recall the qb running the ball either... Seems like a rather simplistic game plan for Ashland... Stop the run!

Frankly, how can anyone compare the two teams when the '08 squad is in the middle of their march to Louisville? Let's compare after the '08 team brings home the bacon... eh trophy! (Just for argument's sake... There is little doubt to me that the '07 Cov Cath, Holmes and Dixie squads were better last year than what we witnessed this year. I think '07 Trotwood is equal to the '08 Colerain team... On the flip side, I think the 'Birds will face stiffer competition in their quest for #18. Johnson Central and John Hardin will be formidable opponents. The '07 team practically waltzed to Louisville.) I guess the Massey ratings will be the final answer! :laugh:

I will go with the 2007 team! Great leadership from the top down. Great athletes that could play any number of positions if needed. 2008 is a great team... but the season is still a pup and the trip to the pizza box is still some 8 weeks away. BTW... the 2004 was a great team as well and deserves recognition as one of the finest! The 2004 team stopped the dynasty in CAKE Town as they defeated a very well coached Boyle County team.

New QB'd most of the game. Needs to develop arm strength for the long pass and for the 'sticks pass when a 'zipped' ball is needed. Has a good head on his shoulders and expect development in the weight room during the off season. The 'birds fans outnumbered the Knghts fans by at least 2:1. I knew the Lex Cath fans did not travel well for the JV games... but expected a better showing for their home game. I heard Lex Cath had a lot of Frosh dressed for the game and perhaps that may explain the apathy. The Lex Cath fans that attended the contest were very nice and gentile folks. (Not sure what triggered the animosity on the playing field... we always have the ususal suspects in the JV games but we had some new participants for Saturday's contest.:argue:) All in all, it was a spirited game that ended well for the blue and white in Lexington. (The 'Birds and the 'Cats!)

I am thinking Will Bardolini as well... good prep for William for future action and great leadership for the JV squad. New has done an admirable job as a Frosh JV QB... but if the 'Birds plan to play with St X's talented team then Bardo's arm strength and his foot speed will be much needed. I too expect some underclassman to come down to join the JV squad for Saturday's action. Beck and company comes to mind!

Yes... the Ft Thomas Jr Football League auctioned off the firing of the cannon during the games for several years. As I recall, the auction was well received at the Jr Football League annual fundraiser! That and getting to run out onto the field to retrieve the football tee... a big hit. More importantly... Congrats to LN and Henry521... two young kids living the dream in the land of milk and honey! So, LN did you reeeallly get down on one knee? PS: Another celebration on the Highlands "H" tonight? :thumb:

Lex Cath lost a ton of talent after last year's championship team... this will not be the same team the 'birds faced last year in Lexington. I saw one of their key defensive backs from last year have a decent day against South Carolina yesterday... #19 Winston Guy! From what I have heard from the Lex faithfull... the Knights are down this year. Birds will roll... :sleep:

I admire the schools most that let the coaches and captains pump of the team... music on the PA is sooo high school!

Henry521: If it was any other coach, I would agree with you 100%. Brossart just does not have the respect from the administration, parents and athletes. He seems to be having issues... carryover from last season and into this season. You do not see or hear too many supporters in the Brossart camp. I think this will be his last asssignment in Park Hills.

Some teams have a "Hail Mary" and one has a "Hail Terry!" I will take the "Hail Terry" any day...

Congrats to the entire Highlands football team for their amazing display of athletic talent in the game last evening. The 'birds played nearly flawless football... heck, I really do not know what they could have done to have played better. I was proud of the sportsmanship displayed by both teams... hard to maintain when a score gets so lopsided that early in the contest. A true sign of class by both teams indeed!

I know that a request has been made to not insult the coaching staff at CCH. But I do agree on a couple of assessments in this post. Many of the HHS kids who played on the East team in the All Star game last June under Coach Brossart walked away from the game with the very same impressions. Very insulting to them and very casual in his preparation towards the big game. Cov Cath had potential talent on the field last night. I am confident changes will be made at the end of the season. I am hopeful the program will rebound so we can get back to a decent, friendly neighborhood rivalry. :thumb:

I only know one time in the history of home games at HHS that one has sold out. That be with Moeller. The Leslie County / Tim Couch show may have come close. I do not forsee anything close to the turnout that generated. It would be nice... but anyone who desires to get in to see the game will be able to do so. If not... I know a good side porch near the north endzone where one could listen to the PA announcer and the cannon while enjoying an refreshment.
