What everyone's thoughts on this? IMO - music before the game pumps some of the players up.:ylsuper:

Put me in category that is for it, I enjoy it and like when schools provide it.

 

 

But, some of the selections leave me scratching my head.

If the speakers are bad which is usually the case, then no is it just annoying noise, otherwise it can.

I don't like the music before or during the game, you can't even talk about the game, however I do like the band.

I do like music, but I have always wondered about something. Does the music that is being played not "pump up" the other teams, also?

I totally agree. I can think of three that has great music and the sound systems were outstanding: Madison Southern, Whitley County and Lincoln County.

Most of the time the band doesn't know when NOT to play.

I always loved the band's cadence, that got me pumped. I agree about the music over the PA, lot's of times the speakers just can't handle the treble, and it's uncomfortable.

Why not if the athletes like it.

I think its cool and pumps up every one to some amount.

That is driving me crazy as well. You cannot watch a game high school or college without hearing that song. It was cool when they used it for the montage in Varsity Blues but it has been grossly overused. :thumb:
