Dlbdonn Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 Where is the outrage from the Highlands Fans ? I just finished reading an article is this morning's Enquirer about Milfords pop gun . That is a toy compared to the one the Birds have . Lets hope that next weeks story about Highlands Football has something about their Cannon and it's traditions . It took a Diehard NCC fan to point this out. Where are you Highlands Fans ? :flame:http://news.cincinnati.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080925/LIFE/809250319/1035&referrer=NEWSFRONTCAROUSEL
Birdsfan Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 Gosh, I wonder if they have to replace the cork each time. As one of the few people blessed with the privilege of having fired our cannon (life thrill #1), this part cracked me up: As smoke clears, 20-year-old Shane Taylor reloads a 10-gauge blank shotgun cartridge, then waits for Milford to score a touchdown, at which point he'll yank on an 8-foot-long lanyard and ...
Dlbdonn Posted September 25, 2008 Author Posted September 25, 2008 I wonder if he yanks it too hard he would pull it over:eek:
polarbear1994 Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 People in Maysville have been complaining in the paper about thier cannon... it's a pretty sad site.

Who knows!!!!!
stickymitts Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 The kid in the picture looks like he's afraid he's going to break that thing. Hell, we should take that to away games. Ballgame could put it in his pocket and replace his "towel" with that thing...

Run To State Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008          Calling that pathetic little thing a cannon is like calling a rowboat a ship. What's next?
Oldbird Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 Probably my all time favorite moment as a Highlands football fan was an event that had nothing to do with on the field play, or state championships, but it did involve the cannon. When Highlands scored on Cov. Cath in the early nineties and from a backyard in the distance the cannon went boom it made me laugh out loud and was one of the best feelings (ok maybe not the best, but a pretty good one )
Clyde Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 I knew as soon as I read that article this morning that a person from the 41075 would respond with "that ain't no cannon!" Thanks for proving me correct. I must admit. That was embarrassing.
Watusi Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 The size doesn't matter. Maybe you Highlands guys are just overcompensating. :bunny:

What's next? Wow! Does one need a concealed weapon carry permit to carry that thing. Isnt that the guy that killed Lincoln. :flame:
