I have heard this for a while now. Didn't realize who Coach Kirk was at first, but you're right. They'll be extremely improved next season I would imagine!

Berea just hired their coach (after canceling football during the summer) so I feel like he is safe. Frankfort is in a similar spot as Berea. Mercer, Mad South, East Jess have had very disappointing seasons. Throw in Casey and Russell County as well to the conversation in CKY. I feel like Dunbar showed improvement and won a few games.

Casey won a district championship in 2022. Didn't take long for things to go south it seems.

With everyone going into the 1st round of the KHSAA playoffs, has anyone had a change of heart about any of these jobs? Scott has already opened up, which I think makes the first official opening of the cycle?

I saw Casey's record and a few other jobs but didn't know the details. 1-20 will not be a good look, but as others have said there's always more to it. I'd imagine the talent pool has went a little dry, considering the recent years of football, boys basketball, baseball, and even girls basketball all being down at Casey (based off KHSAA records) Other jobs listed however do not have the excuse of no talent.

Whitley, Perry Central, Frankfort, Mercer? Just went down records on KHSAA website and these stand out to me. There are several more. Is Central already "open"?

Seems to be one of Lincoln’s better teams in recent years. Definitely the best since 2021. Looking at the history of this game and it’s usually a close contest. East plays well at home. I don’t love this pick but I’ll go East 30 Lincoln County 27
