That's a 5.5-6 hour drive for WCA, that long of a drive and then having to play against an offense that they likely haven't played against before definitely puts them behind the 8 ball to start this one.

Due to the popularity of the game as they begin to reach stadium capacity, ticket prices might go up, but as of now Douglas is currently charging the same $5 that Station charged for their game last week.

That would make sense since I'm guessing Douglass Chartered used Gold shield for that game, so chartering on Friday, and then having to turn around with a late notice charter reservation for the next day definitely wouldn't have been cheap.

Bryan station either needs to find a way to get their passing attack going or they will need to really control the clock with their run game, But even then Boyle doesn't need much time to get points on the board. The station Oline should have an easier time with Boyle's Dline than they did with Trinity's Dline. But it's hard to see Station coming out on top in this one.

Add the defending 5A state champs to that list as well.

Douglas ran the ball at will to be honest, if I'm not mistaken they opened up the 3rd quarter with a TD drive that ate 5 minutes of the clock and only included one pass attempt.

The returned alot on offense but their biggest issue is their offense is entirely one dimensional. They operate out of a spread even though they know and the opponent knows that they can't pass the ball. Last year they were good when their read option was working which was helped by having a future D1 runningback in the backfield. If you stack the box and shut down their run game, there's nothing that they can do. They'd be better off switching to a Power I or something similar where they can also take advantage of short/quick routes.

Definitely think this could've been a bit closer if Bryan Station could get their offense going. Sucks to hear that their original starting QB is done for the year. Their current QB was supposed to be at WR. Opening up their season with the 6A, 5A, 4A state champs will get them ready for the second half of the season.

Bryan Station often plays their scrimmages in their practice uniform's they did it last year as well.

I think the Wing T can definitely win you championships consistently, as long as you can get a steady supply of athletes funneling into your school. If I'm not mistaken the current winningest hsfb coach in the country runs a Wing T. I'm not sure how well Louisiana football compares to Kentucky football, but John Curtis Christian school is a perennial state contender in Louisiana and often stands toe to toe with their states versions of St.X/Male/Trinity/etc. The school opened in 1962 and Coach Curtis has been been the coach since 1969 and he's run the wing T for that entire time. He won his first state championship in 1975 and currently has 28* hsfb state championships. 12* of which have come over the last 23 years with his most recent being in 2022. Believe it or not He actually won a national championship in 2012. 28* championships in 53 years really is impressive for a Wing T offense. This school is also in New Orleans so talent isn't very far away. *Technically only 27 and 11 since he had to forfeit his 2013 championship due to some recruiting violations. Funny facts: Coach John Curtis Jr. is named after his father John Curtis Sr. who founded the school and named it after himself. He's the only head football coach the school has ever had. He also has 3 state championships in baseball as well.

Those first 3 weeks will definitely tell us alot about BS. They're having to replace 5 guys on defense who will be playing D1 ball this fall. They're having to replace over half of their 22 starters.

Off the top of my head I know that Tavey starts at Safety. Demuariah Brown and Sage Dawson start at both CB spots, and Avery Bodner starts at LB.

So Douglas this season despite being in a down year beat St X in a scrimmage, beat Trinity on the road and has now beat Male on the road for a regional championship. Can any other school in Ky say they've done anything similar against the Big 3?

I think for the semi finals Frederick Douglass at Trinity Station at Ballard 2 Lexington schools will be rematching 2 Louisville school that theyve both beat for a chance to go to the State Championship.

I think they could try doing this after the season so like all the class championships could be viewed as conference championships and then there could be an invite system to compete for the open Division Championship

All the talks about Boyle County being the best team in the state regardless of class has made me wonder, would it be possible to have an Open Division Championship in Kentucky to determine the true (overall) state champion? And would it be a good idea? I know that Cali and Arizona have it. It makes sense in Cali because of just how many schools they have but Arizona despite being much larger than Kentucky in population the amount of schools they have who play 11 man football is around the same. Kentucky has 224 highschool football teams and Arizona has 220. I feel like it could be possible, but I want to see what you guys think of the idea.
