Trinity (1-0) will travel to Frederick Douglass (1-0) after defeating Bryan Station 28-10. Frederick Douglass is coming off a 35-13 win over Bowling Green. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 pm.

Last season the two teams split with Frederick Douglass winning the early season game 17-14, but in the 6A playoffs Trinity got revenge in a very close game 14-7.

In Trinity's game against Bryan Station they racked up 376 yards (206 rushing/170 passing), and the defense held Bryan Station to one touchdown so a good opening performance for the young Shamrocks.

Frederick Douglass stymied a powerful Bowling Green offense holding them to 13 pts, and on offense controlled the line of scrimmage to rack up 35 points on the Purples.

This game is the game of the week in 6A and I would expect another close game between these two teams. With the strength of both team's defenses, I would expect this to be a low scoring game like both games were last season. The Farm should be packed and a great atmosphere. Who wins this huge 6A matchup?

Broncos win 21-14. Welcome to the Farm. Yall check out the Paddock area, we will have a great concession stand and several food trucks.

Expecting some starters back.  Hoping to see more snaps under center.  A large chunk of this game will encompass how does T approach Cedric Works Jr. Zane is a mobile QB, but not as fast as Deuce Bailey, who was running for his life from the 4 star edge the whole 2nd half.

In the same vein, how does the Douglass OL try to handle the Rocks DL? J. Carney is a few inches shy of being a sophomore 3 star at the least, and is very quick and agile. Seeing his workouts at the Aspirations Gym made me a fan.

But give me Douglass this Friday night, for sure.

This should be another great game just as the two meetings last year was. In last year's meetings in the first one Douglass was coming off a beat down (45-10) by nationally ranked Archbishop Hoban up in Canton and many thought the Broncos were in over their heads with their move back to 6A and their radically upgraded schedule having to 6 days later travel to Louisville to take on the Shamrocks of Trinity. Trinty was coming off a 36-3 win at home over Bryan Station 7 days earlier.  The Broncos arrived and while getting ready to play the game was postponed and Douglass agreed to come back the next day for a 2:00pm kick. On the prediction thread for the game the vote was overwhelming in favor of Trinity (81-10) the Broncos defense was the difference in the game as Douglass came away with a hard fought 17-14 win.

The two teams would meet up again on Nov. 24th at Trinity in the 6A semifinals where the Shamrocks won this game in OT 14-7 which was by the toughest game Trinity had in route to winning the 6A state championship.

This year both teams are coming off impressive wins over very good teams in their opening games of the season. Trinity came to Lexington and defeated Bryan Station 28-10 and were in control throughout the game. The Broncos went on the road for what was really a home game for Bowling Green last seasons 5A champs. On the pregame thread for this game the vote was (49-25) in favor of Bowling Green. The Purples scored on their first drive to led 7-0 and were driving again when the Broncos defense forced a fumble and tied the game at 7 late in the first quarter, they controlled the rest of the game on both sides of the ball in defeating the Purples 35-13.

This should be a really good one at "The Farm" I believe the Shamrocks had a couple of starters out. The Broncos had two main offensive players out as well in Talbert and Taylor Co. transfer running back Peyton Smith. It looks like the weather could be an issue as was for this game last season. The forecast is calling for heat indexes over 100 degrees and chance for thunderstorms. I look for the poll for this one to once again like last season and last week but in favor of the Broncos opponent. I am going with as I do most of the time with the Broncos defense being the difference in this one with the Broncos getting the win 14-10. Go Broncos!

I see this as a low scoring game as both defenses will control the game. Trinity has an outstanding kicker so they'll have the advantage in field position which could be the difference in this one. I'll take Trinity in a game that goes down to a late possession in the 4th quarter...

Trinity - 21

FD - 14

@16thBBall Fan I saw Peyton Smith in clothes on the sideline.  How long is he out?  I will brag on the stable of runners even without him.  Wow!  #31, the Pharo kid and #22 was a beast.  That doesn’t count Chenault on the outside.  I still look forward to seeing Smith - fast shifty and strong.  #22 reminded me of him.  A legit 4-5 D1 type backs.

Talking with fellow Bronco fan Hungover_in_Andover He injured his MCL against St.X. He said it looks like 2nd round of the playoffs if he doesn't have any setbacks. He is due for surgery next week. I hate it for him he is a great kid and would have been a major part of the Douglass running game. The Broncos rushed for 292 yards last night.

#31 Dakari Talbert (Derion's younger brother)

#22 Tay Tay Allen (had his breakout game against Male in the 2023 playoffs)

Thanks for that, most on here don't realize the backfield talent at FDHS. Notwithstanding 2027 Jermiah Turner #14 who has an offer from EKU, without playing a down in 2023 after sustaining a season ending ACL in the St. X scrimmage.

The Broncos had to be paid a few thousand dollars to agree to come back. Looking forward to this one.
