Frederick Douglass 35 Bowling Green 13

Featured Replies

Final from WKU and the Rafferty's Bowl. After the first series of the game by Bowling Green and the big turnover by the Broncos defense Douglass was in control of this game especially the Broncos offensive line.

Same score of the first game.  Congrats Douglas!

Good win for Freddy D. I'm sure BG will bounce back from this game.

I wasn’t able to watch the game, did Douglas have a lot of rushing yards?

Yes I would guess over 150+ yards.

Congrats Douglass. Earned the win and have a very fine team. Hope you go all the way.
For BG, just what could have been. The biggest play in the entire game was the 1Q fumble where BG appeared to be headed to be up 2 scores and it’s not and tied. BG never recovered from that play IMO. They didn’t quit but it was never the same.

Tell me about we have some school named Trinity coming to Lexington and "The Farm". Best of luck to you guys I think you have a real shot to repeat in 5A.

Douglas ran the ball at will to be honest, if I'm not mistaken they opened up the 3rd quarter with a TD drive that ate 5 minutes of the clock and only included one pass attempt.

Frederick Douglass played without 3 D1 starters. Talbert, Smith and the UK commit. 6A might run through Douglass this year.

The last time Bowling Green lost in consecutive season openers (as they have now since they lost to LCA last year) was 2005 & 2006. They went to the state title game in each of those years, and of course won state last year. History may continue to repeat.

Defense wins championships. Our defense is tough. But this Works Jr. kid could be what Jamarrion Harkless (now at Purdue) was for us in 2022.

Good luck to BG the rest of the way.

No Cedric Works (UK commit)  played. He was number #5.

It was clear the game was won and lost at the line of scrimmage. Broncos were a physical bunch and simply better up front and it made all the difference.

I’ll still be drinking my Kool Aid the rest of the year! A set back against a top 3 team in the state won’t deter my confidence in this Purple bunch.

Good game to Douglass!
