I agree. It’s very hard to gage when mayfield doesn’t play similar caliber teams. I thought LCA played a tougher schedule last year than Mayfield. I just believe that it is very hard to win in the playoffs without some sort of defense. When things slow down offensively against the good teams you have to have a solid defense to rely on. I think once mayfield/beechwood are in the post season, they’ll both will be a lot tougher defensively for a team with LCA’s firep. Mayfield hasn’t necessarily played a tough schedule in some years but they’re always a tough out come November or December.

LCA had a very impressive win. Giving up 50 points doesn’t make them a favorite for me. What happens when you play a mayfield/beechwood in the post season and the offensive production slows down? Now they have to depend on a defense that wasn’t that great last year and it seems like that defense rolled over to this year. Until I see something different.. BW Mayfield LCA

I think graves scores more this game. They really are better than the score showed. Their offense moves very fluid. Their defense is really nice upfront. If PT comes into this game too confident, it could be an upset. Graves isn’t a team you can just play around with.

I don't think that will come close to happening until the 2 schools combine. Who knows if/when that'll ever happen.

100 percent sure it was a fan that made that. 99 percent of Mayfield fans said the exact thing.

Anybody hearing anything on this?

I did hear the Apollo rumors from some of the players. The players seem to think they are playing Apollo this season but the JC match up is still in discussions.

I can definitely tell you these boys are hungry after that State loss. Ian Williams, Juju, and will morris were all training at that starks gym in Paducah. I think Ian will have a breakout year this season. He looked like he packed on some extra lean muscle. Juju looked even more explosive and will looked like he’s added 5 lbs of muscle. I’m excited for this season.

Correct. A lot of the defensive players were freshman and sophomores. I’m sure BW/LCA will be the preseason favorites again next season.

You’re absolutely right. The beauty is that this team is young and there isn’t a ton of kids graduating. The defensive line is young and you saw the pressure they put on BW offensive line. With all that said congrats beechwood fans.

I haven’t really watched beechwood this year. Is beechwood’s QB as good as Boley?

I’m excited about this game. There’s not a lot things better than good high football game in late November/early December. With that being said, Mayfield wins as long as they keep the penalties in check. The penalties have plagued this team all season. Mayfield played in a packed house against a team that at the time was considered one of the best in their class(Paducah). Not too many games have a playoff atmosphere in the regular season but that’s definitely a plus for games like this one. Safe travels for all LCA fans.

When will the episode be posted?

It would look very similar If mayfield’s starters could play more than two quarters.
