Last year would’ve looked like this with the top 8 from Max Preps. 1. Trinity v 8. Manual 3. Cal v 6. South Warren 2. Boyle v 7. Cov Cath 4. X v 5. Owensboro So you’d have had a champion from that. Then your other champs would’ve probably been 1a: KCD 2A: LCA 3A: Murray 4A: Franklin/Corbin 5A: PC 6a: Douglass ?

I don’t think the state of Kentucky is big enough to make it worth it.

PREACH. And the people that were in charge of football decisions agreed to it forever ago because they didn’t wanna have to put in that extra work either in June. Time has changed and we should change with the times. They should vote on it again and allow 7v7 work in June. In a dream world they’d allow teams a scrimmage at the end of spring ball too if it was during a certain time frame. Spring ball is closest thing to summer ball like basketball I’d think.

Boyle plays Highlands and St X from that schedule. Ryle and Bowling Green declined. Owensboro pulled from the scrimmage. Trinity never replied. Don’t think there’s been any discussion between them and South Warren.

Nino has done a great job with Atherton. They will be much better than the nondistrict teams that Arnett and staff inherited.

Boyle County vs Corbin for the Region Championship in 2023 was the most packed out game I've been to. Corbin fans were lined up outside of the gates while school was still in session looking to get in. Both teams were undefeated. Boyle Co was led by future Mr. Football winner Tavi Quisenberry, Corbin was led by UK (now UL) signees Jacob and Jerod Smith who had transferred back down to KY for a fifth year. Boyle scored after the half to make it 21-14 and that's all that was needed. Boyle was held out on the 1 to ice the game late, Corbin drove down and went for a throwback pass to the QB on fourth down on their final drive that was broken up for Boyle to be able to ice it. Boyle went on to run clock in the finals. Both teams were top 5 teams in the state that season. Fun Fact, that Boyle team didn't lose anything that competed in that year. Also won the EKU 7v7 tourney, won both scrimmages, and ran the table during the regular season.

Jack Herron interviewed this evening. Heard it went very well. Herron was Glasgow’s DC this past season.

Tyler Weddington leaving Phelps to go to Tug Valley WV. Huge loss for the hornets. He averaged 30 and 16 last year. Really skilled player.

PC promotes from within. Roberts called the O last two years for Burns. He had called the defense for Hines. He also had a lot of time down at the middle school. Good guy that’s paid his dues. Congrats to Coach Roberts!

I’d think he would slide into Cam Estep’s role from last year. While he obviously is a better college prospect, it’s hard for me to see him being better for Corbin than Estep was in that role.

Larron Westmoreland has enrolled at Corbin. Four star safety from J Town.
