2026 Corbin Redhounds

Featured Replies

Just 2 points away from a trip to the state championship and one of the biggest wins in school history and unlikeliest wins in Kentucky high school football last year. But it wasn't to be as Corbin fell to Boyle County in the state semifinals. The week before Corbin had stunned the Highlands Bluebirds at home. Corbin started the year 3-3 but quickly gained steam heading into district play and kept it the rest of the year. They rode a 7 game winning streak into the Boyle County game.

2025 Corbin was such a balanced team. On offense they were almost equal in average passing and rushing yards. Mason Salmons had 30 touchdowns and just 2 interceptions. He returns. He is also the returning rushing leader as stud running back Cole Stevens is graduating. Salmons also loses his top 2 receivers in Stevens and Cam Estep. There are definitely holes to be filled but how can you not be excited when Salmons will again be taking the snaps.

The Redhounds look to retain most of their tenacity and skill on the defensive side of the ball from 2025. Leading tackler Silas Mahan returns. Sacks leader Malachi Brown returns. In fact, only 2 of the top 10 tacklers are gone to graduation. With Estep and Lucas Brittain graduating they will have to rebuild some in the secondary and will look to Trey Person as their anchor.

I hope Corbin can carry over all the excitement the end stages of 2025 brought them. They certainly have stars on both sides of the ball capable of being catalysts for another successful year.

Looking for a QB coach per footballscoop:

Here it is:

Corbin (KY): Corbin High School in Corbin, Kentucky is seeking a Quarterbacks Coach to join our football staff. Our program has reached the Kentucky State Semifinals in each of the past two seasons and continues to build a strong tradition of success, and we’re looking for a coach who is passionate about developing quarterbacks, has a strong understanding of offensive concepts, and is committed to building relationships with student-athletes while supporting the overall culture and vision of the Corbin football program. Interested candidates should send a resume and brief cover letter to Luke Salmons Head Football Coach at [email protected]

Corbin will be right back in the thick of things next year.  They are always good up front with size and aggressiveness.

The Estep kid graduating will hurt.  He was a baller.

Looks like I can only piece together about half of Corbin's confirmed 2026 schedule. They played Linton-Stockton (IL) last year in Week 1 as part of the Cumberlan Pigskin Classic...no news on that one yet. None of their district games (Whitley County, Harlan County, and Perry County Central) have been confirmed yet, and the Johnson Central game in week 7 hasn't been confirmed yet either.

Larron Westmoreland has enrolled at Corbin. Four star safety from J Town.

He's a 6'4" UK commit and a big time get for the Hounds as they try to make up ground on Boyle County.

I’d think he would slide into Cam Estep’s role from last year. While he obviously is a better college prospect, it’s hard for me to see him being better for Corbin than Estep was in that role.

From Louisville to Corbin? Definitely a change of pace for the family.

The school and the town will treat him and his family well. Small towns are an adjustment. It's a safe town. It's definitely a football town without as many distractions as a larger city has.

The change of pace will actually be the competition. 4 star recruit playing against Doss, Southern, Seneca et al. This season, he will earn the 4 star status for sure.

District games against Harlan County and Perry Central how now been finalized into the Redhounds' schedule, and assuming everything stays in place from last year's district action, that means Corbin will travel to Whitley County on Oct 16th. Without official schedules released by Johnson Central or Corbin it also still remains unclear if the two are continuing their series against one another on October 2nd.
