After a rough start the flyers are back in the win column after a 56-13 beat down of PRP. Knox Barrett played well and he's the straw that stirs the drink for Franklin. Coach James does a good job and they only get better as they go along. LCA is now reeling as they've lost two straight, but they've been beat by the top team in 3A (CAL) and one of the best 5A teams (Pulaski County). LCA is still one of the favorites in 2A, but another loss could be brutal for RPI and their path. These two have had battles the last few years. This game I expect to be no different. Who we got?

Battle of the unbeatens! PC enters this one rolling. They have two clock runner wins over Henderson and the latest a thumping on North Hardin, then a stingy win over LCA 7-0. Cohen Finley does it all for the maroons defensively, and an offense they're solid up front with Kasen Brock doing what he does. The Redhounds are also 3-0, the latest a somewhat strange 26-18 win over Bryan Station where they may not have won by as much as expected. Westmoreland is now cleared and made his debut which gives the hounds weapons galore on the outside. This should be one of the games of the week. Who do we like?

I think Spencer can challenge Franklin for that district. They played extremely close last year.

You'd be surprised how many in Danville think otherwise.. Lol I don't think it hurts that much with RPI because your first two games against lower A teams count as the A that you're in. The OOWP is where it would hurt Boyle the most. I agree with what you're saying though.

From what I've been around, there is a lot of sour feelings between the two schools over Danville pulling out in 2024 in the middle of a two year cycle. I know it's pretty straight forward here that the two wouldn't be competitive currently, but a lot of people on that side of town feel like Danville is ready to get Boyle back on the schedule and that they can win that game. Boyle also took a lot of lumps from Danville for a long time and never backed out of the rivalry so when they did that it amplified those feelings.

Can Danville create enough defense to hang around with LCA in that district? I think the margin between 1-3 is razor thin. Likewise with 4-6 as well.

I think any of the top 4 can win it. 5 and 6 can knock off someone good. 7 can turn it into a shoot out where you never know what happens in the end. 1 is the favorite when healthy but not so much further ahead they're a shoe in.

I think GRC is somewhat of a glass house right now. 2-0 but not sure the quality of those two. I think Station will end up in the top 10 by seasons end and that will likely be your top 10 throughout the year.

The defenders enter this one 0-2 with arguably one of the toughest three game stretches so far in the state. South Warren, Boyle County, and now Corbin. They're led by Jeremiah Turner on the ground and JT Haskins on defense. Both have the ability to bust one open at anytime, but they've been contained pretty well so far. The Redhounds are off to a quick start going 2-0 so far. They were down late in the 3rd to North Laurel 14-13, but caught fire in the fourth and won by 28. Trey Person was the MVP for their last game and was unstoppable on the ground. Do the defenders steal one on the road? Or do the redhounds get to 3-0?

The Flyers enter this one in unfamiliar territory. They're 0-2 in search of their first win. They took a 31 point loss to Scott County, and then a 12 point loss to Bullitt East. They battled back in the BE game, but have shown no signs of consistency yet. PRP is 1-1, but the latest was a clock runner by Raceland. Their first win was a 15 point win over Shelby Valley. Do the Flyer get back in the win column? Or do they continue their slow start?

Rivalry week! Lex Cath enters this game 2-0 behind a stingy defense and a potent run game. Schlarman is a load at RB and gets downhill in a hurry. Lex Cath the last couple years has had an elite defense and special teams unit. Running the ball and good defense is always a great recipe for success. The Rebels enter this one 2-0 after a clock runner against Bryan Station. Seneca Driver finished the game with 2 TD catches and 2 TD runs, a sack, a TFL, and an interception all in one half of play. QB Jhet Raleigh has had two great games on the ground and in the air. Lucas Akers has a defensive TD in both games to open the year. Lex Cath has had the most success against the Rebels since 2020, notching two wins in Boyle's 6 total losses since 2020. Can they find magic again? Or does Boyle take care of business?
