  1. Must not have had anyone they like apply. Puts the new hire behind 2-3 months.
  2. Here is your 13th Region Top 10 Week 3. Harlan County continues to show why they’re not just one of the top teams in the region, but in the whole state. They look to take their undefeated season into the Kings of the Bluegrass. Corbin started their season this week with monster wins but haven’t been tested too much. Most of the 13th will be playing multiple games this week as most teams are taking place in tournaments, so the potential is there to see multiple movers in the rankings going into next week. 1. Harlan County (7-0). After a big win over South Laurel, Harlan County showed why they’re at the top of the region right now. Trent Noah led the way that game with 22. Then to cap off the week Harlan County pulled down an OT win over Desales in a game where Trent Noah went for 32 and Maddox Huff for 26. When those two are on, they’re probably the regions best two man game. The Black Bears face off against Bowling Green Wednesday night in the King of the Bluegrass and judging by how that game goes will tell who else they have this week. 2. Corbin (2-0) Corbin finally began their season with a monster 119-31 win over Cordia then followed it up with a district win over Cordia. 13 people scored against Cordia while pretty much everyone got to play. Corbin has a big week this week in the Legacy Nissan Challenge at South Laurel. They will play Harlan Wednesday and then have games from the tournament Thursday and Friday. 3. South Laurel (3-2). South took a couple bruises this week with a 7 point loss to Harlan County and a 2 point loss in overtime to Bardstown. Rawlings, Steele, and Mabe led the way in the losing effort against HC with 12 a piece. South looks to get back on track this week with games Wednesday against Owen County in their home tournament then games Thursday and Friday. 4. Clay County (5-2). Clay went 2-0 on the week with district wins over OBI and Jackson County. Neither game was relatively close and Roark and Bundy both led the way in both wins. Clay is putting together a nice season but we’ve yet to see them get a win over a premier program. Clay will travel to McCreary for the McCreary invitational and take on Danville Wednesday. They will also likely play Thursday and Friday in the tournament as well. 5. Bell County (7-0) Bell kept their undefeated season alive with with three wins over Lynn Camp, Buckhorn, and Leslie County. Bell is killing all the teams they’re playing but their SOS is not very good so it’s hard to get a gauge on them. They play this week in the Redmond Auto Group Holiday Classic with the first game being against Cumberland Gap TN. 6. Whitley County (6-1) Whitley also went 3-0 on the week with wins over Middlesboro, Pineville, and Rye Cove. The wins over Pineville and Middlesboro show they’re a notch above the back half of the 13th region. Evan Ellis has a monster game against Pineville with 27 and 8. He also led the way against Middlesboro with 31 and 9. Whitley plays tonight against Casey County, tomorrow against Nicholas County, and Friday against Belfry. 7. Pineville (4-2) Pineville had a chance to jump a few spots but faced a set back against Whitley county 80-86. Pineville has star power in Sawyer Thompson, but they need to get a win or two over the upper half of the teams in the region. Pineville will travel to the Smoky Mountain Christmas Classic this week and try their luck in Gatlinburg. 8. Knox Central (5-2). Knox went 2-0 on the week and continues to be the most improved team in the region. Big man Gavin Chadwell had a monster game against Lee County finishing with 19 and 16 while Grayson Burton led all scorers with 29. Against Model Chadwell had 29 and 21. He’s one of if not the best big man in the region. Knox will also be joining Clay County as they travel to the McCreary Invitational this week as they play Casey County in their first game. 9. North Laurel (1-5). North got their season started off in the W column with a win over OBI 87-41. North may not be at the top of the region like they have been, but my belief is they will finish around that 4-6 range by the end of the year. Kudos to Coach Valentine for scheduling the way he has knowing that they would be losing as much volume as they did. North will take place in the Central Bank Jim Rose Classic this week and will kick the week off with Baylor TN tomorrow evening. 10. Harlan (1-3). Harlan joins the top 10 this week after a 13 point win over Middlesboro. With Kyler McLendon the Green Dragons will still be able to compete and win games, but they did lose a lot of their production from last year. The Green Dragons look to keep their winning ways going as they play Corbin on Wednesday in the Legacy Nissan Challenge. Best of the Rest: 11. Middlesboro (4-2) 12. Jackson County (3-5) 13. Williamsburg (4-3) 14. OBI (4-4) 15. Barbourville (3-7) 16. Lynn Camp (2-5) 17. Red Bird (0-5)
  3. Got mine today! These caramels are elite. As always, thanks BGP!
  4. Looked terrible. I’ll take it though since they’re finally cleaning house. Glass half full. Lol
  5. Cleaned house. Fired Staley and Telesco. Relieved defensive run game coordinator / DL coach of his duties. Named Giff Smith (OLB Coach) interim HC and JoJo Wooden interim GM.
  6. Brandon Staley and Tom Telesco are truly inept. Should've fired Staley at the half. Love hearing his "everyone loses like this" comments afterwards. Said after the Ravens loss if he wasn't getting through to his team they'd be getting blown out.. well surprise here it is. Don't let those two in the building come Monday!
  7. Rock was killing Boyle before Boyle came back in the second half to make it a game. Just seems like Boyle’s suited much better to press and to run. When they slow it down they look very average.
  8. Nothing will come from this. Next year things will roll on like normal.
  9. Here is your 13th Region Top 10 Week 2. Trent Noah had a monster week, a few inter region games were played, and the back half of the top 10 are starting to shake themselves out. 1. Harlan County (5-0). Harlan Co has stayed perfect on the season and did so by winning the WYMT Mountain Classic. Trent Noah led the way through the tournament by scoring a tournament record 108 in the three games combined which set a record by fellow 13th region player Peyton Broughton. He paced the Black Bears with 54 in the semi final game against Martin County then led the way with 38 in the championship game. Harlan County takes on South Laurel on the road Tuesday and plays Desales this weekend. 2. South Laurel (3-0) The Cardinals have started the season 3-0 with wins over crosstown rival North Laurel and Sayre in the Ted Cook Classic. Rawlings and Mabe combined for 38 in the win over Sayre. The Cardinals really look to make a splash at home against Harlan County on Tuesday. They finish up the week against Bardstown at Green County in the Carl Deaton Classic on Saturday. 3. Corbin (0-0). It feels weird to have a team that’s not played a game in the third spot but that’s the upside I think this Corbin team has. There should be no excuse of football players being basketball ready with the time they’ve taken before their first game. We will see what this Corbin team has on Wednesday as they take on Cordia at home then they will play Williamsburg at home on Friday. Corbin will be led by Carter Stewart, Trey Worley, Eli Pietrowski, and Zander Curry. 4. Clay County (3-2). Clay lost in their first round game of the WYMT Classic which deprived us of a Clay and Harlan County matchup, but turned around and won their next game against Harlan Ind. The only downfall of that win was they had beat them by 46 earlier in the year, but only won by 10 this time. Hayden Harris led the tigers in scoring in both of their games this week.Clay will take on OBI on the road Tuesday and Jackson County at home on Friday in two district showdowns. 5. Bell County (4-0) If you consider HC, SL, Corbin, and Clay your big four.. Then Bell is making a case for being the top of the next group. Bell is undefeated on the year and just wrapped the week up with a win over Knox Central by 12 in the Pride of the Mountains Basketball Showcase. Blake Burnett and Cameron Hall led the Bobcats in scoring in the win over KC. What Bell really lacks is a big win so far in their schedule but that time will eventually come. Bell will go to Lynn Camp on Tuesday and play Buckhorn at Perry County Central on Friday then Leslie at Perry on Saturday. 6. Pineville (4-1) Pineville is also quietly putting together a nice season. They had a nice week last week with a 47 point win over Red Bird and a 32 point win over Rye Cove. Sawyer Thompson is worth the price of admission if you find your way to a game that Pineville is playing in. Pineville only has one game this week on the schedule as they go to Whitley County on Friday. 7. Whitley County (3-1) Whitley finished the week strong with a 3 point win over Knox Central and a 21 point win over Garrard County in the Colonel Classic. They had 3 players score in double figures against Knox and 4 players in double figures against Garrard so the Colonels are playing unselfish basketball right now. Whitley will have a chance to climb the rankings this week with games against Middlesboro, Pineville, and Rye Cove. 8. Knox Central (3-2). Knox is by far the most improved team so far in the 13th. They’re a win away from their total last season, and were close to surpassing it this week but dropped two games to 13th region teams Whitley and Bell. Gavin Chadwell is having a solid year averaging 20 and 15 per game. Knox looks to get back in the win column with games at Model on Tuesday, and Paris at home on Friday. They will also make the trip to Perry County Central to play Lee County on Saturday. 9. North Laurel (0-5). Still winless but I believe teams under North Laurel would be winless too if they’ve played the schedule the Jags have. The Jags lost a heartbreaker last night to Henry Clay by 2. They look to get back in the win column this week with a home district game against OBI on Thursday. North is being led so far by Reece Davidson in points and rebounds. 10. Jackson County (2-3). The Generals don’t have much time to dwell on going 0-2 last week because they have a busy week ahead of them this week. Jackson plays Red Bird at home Monday, Owsley on the road Tuesday, Clay on the road Friday, then Wolfe County at Perry Central on Saturday. We should know more about the Generals this time next Sunday. Best of the Rest: 11. Harlan (0-3) 12. Middlesboro (3-0) 13. Barbourville (3-5) 14. Williamsburg (3-2) 15. Lynn Camp (2-4) 16. OBI (2-2) 17. Red Bird (0-4)
  10. Here is your 13th Region Top 10 Week 1 (half of week 2 sorry won’t be late from here on out!). Would like to extend prayers and condolences to the Hicks family with the passing of one of our state's coaching legends. 1. Harlan County (3-0). Harlan Co had the clean sweep on the week and opened up Monday with a win over Letcher in the WYMT Mountain Classic. They also added in a nice 10 point win over Ashland Blazer who is always a force to be reckoned with. They play Martin County Friday in the WYMT and barring no upsets will likely play Saturday in the finals. 2. South Laurel (2-0) The Cardinals started the season off with a drubbing of McCreary Central then picked up a nice win last night over cross town rival North Laurel 56-40. Colton Rawlings led the way with 24 against his former team, and Jordan Mabe finished with 19. South wraps up the week with Sayre in the Ted Cook Classic on Saturday. 3. Clay County (2-2). Clay opened the week 2-1 before taking a loss last night in the WYMT Classic. They kicked off the season with a 17 point win over Pineville which saw Jerrod Roark put up 25 and Elijah Bundy put up 22. Not to be out done, they then throttled Harlan and were led in scoring by Hayden Harris with 15. A tough loss last night to Floyd Central puts the matchup with Harlan County away and brings back a rematch with Harlan tonight to wrap up the week. 4. Corbin (0-0). Corbin is off one more week before they kick the season off on the 13th against Cordia. I am sure they’re taking this time to perfect the small things and get their football guys acclimated to the basketball grind. 5. Bell County (2-0) Bell is off to a hot start with a 70 point win over Cordia and a 37 point win over Knoxville Ambassadors. They’ve been led in scoring each game by Cameron Hall with 22 and 24. The wrap up this week with games against Tri-Cities Christian and Knox Central in the Pride of the Mountains Basketball Showcase. 6. Pineville (2-1) Pineville started the year off with a 17 point loss at home against Clay County, but has since responded with wins over Cumberland Gap and a nice road win over Scott County in OT in the Jersey Mike’s Classic. Sawyer Thompson and Ashton Moser both led the way with 21 a piece. They wrap up this week with games against Red Bird and Thomas Walker. 7. Whitley County (1-1) The Colonels opened the year with a 2 point loss to Wayne County on a buzzer beater, but responded with a win over Lynn Camp last night by 32. They finish this week out with Knox Central and Garrard County. The game against Knox County should tell more about how these 7-10 range teams fall. 8. Knox Central (3-0). With the Panthers hot start they are now 1 game away from their season total wins last year. It’s been a nice sight to see the Panthers start hot. They opened up the year with a 17 point win over Owsley County, followed by a 30 point win over town rival Barbourville, then had a 16 point win last night over OBI which saw Gavin Chadwell put up 26 and 17. The Panthers may be a sleeper team to keep climbing the rankings. Knox will face off against Whitley on Thursday and Bell on Friday. 9. North Laurel (0-4). Graduation and transfers have not been kind to the Jaguars thus far. They’ve started the season with four losses against Lex Cath, CAL, Woodford, and South Laurel. Each of these games have been competitive but Lex Cath. It’s the first week so I don’t see the need to hit the panic button yet, but things do need to start to pick up. North will look to get their first win of the year over Henry Clay on Saturday. 10. Jackson County (2-2). The Generals started the season with a win over Leslie, then dropped a game to Harlan County, then beat Lee County, then lost to Berea last night. As long as they keep pace, they’re looking to get back in the W column over Mercer in the Ted Cook Classic. Jackson has been led so far in scoring by Keagan Ward and Tydus Summers.
  11. Boyle’s first string defense gave up 3 TD’s in the playoffs.
  12. Highlands "by far" better than LCA, Bryan Station, and South Warren? Ehhhhhhhh
  13. 10 point game - Pikeville 5 point game - Bowling Green 4 point game - Mayfield 3 point game - Trinity 2 point game - Boyle County 1 point game - Christian Academy-Louisville 48
  14. It’s been 42 years for those guys they get creative in trying to find ways to have moral victories.
  15. Congrats to Cooper. Only run in with Highlands has been during 7 on 7 and lord do they talk a lot.. I was glad to see this result!
